4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Again, Huge thanks to phaleslu for sharing! Tasted 7/8/11. 22oz bomber. Bottle #282/392. Pours pitch black with a trace ring of head. More of a creamy and earthy aroma than the Pappy version. Almost milky? Full bodied with a more apparent fruity nuance. Nice and sweet with a decent burn. There’s a lot of dark berry flavors to go with the sugary sweetness of the residual brandy. Sticky, cloying and very viscous. Very well blended.
Bottled, 2011. Old note. 15cl sample. The aroma has wine, booze, chocolate, red and dried fruit. Black coloured beer with a thin head. The taste is light bitter, very sweet, has chocolate, fudge, wine. Full and thick. Soft carbonation. Nice! Jokestereo (364) - SWEDEN - MAY 28, 2016

Black with a small brown head. Aroma is brandy, soy, paint, brandy, figs, raisins, dark sugars, notes of dark chocolate,
Taste is very sweet, soy, slight boozy. Finish is very sweet, figs, prunes, dates, boozy brandy notes, house paint. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Way too sweet, drinkability is low in this one...
Bottle courtesy of hackobock. Pours viscous black with a small mocha head that leaves some sparse spotty trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is malty and fairly volatile with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, moist wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, prunes, ketjap manis, paint, moist soil and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet, tiny bitter, malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is viscous, syrupy, round, bozzy and full bodied. Finish is heavy sweet with dark dried fruits and paint. Crazy paint character especially in the nose. Very off... Extremely sweet and fruity in the taste. Not for me. Not at all...
