Bottle shared at Sean’s 30th Birthday Party. Awesome. Pours a pitchblack opaque pour, thicker with a decent darker brown head that dies to a thicker ring, laces well. Thicker and darker edges than the others. Aromas are a healthy vanilla bean essence, roast, toast, sweet toffee, and chocolate. Mellow oak, the Brandy sweetens but doesn’t get any acidic apple in it. Really inviting, amazing. Initial is full on body, but lighter on the palate than expected. Healthy mellow smooth vanilla covers some roast and the typical sweet toffee and caramel. Some toast, cocoa, coffee. Smooth and sweet from the vanilla, the wet oak and a touch of heat grows with light spirit, a touch of brandy. This seems a bit more tame than just straight Vanilla Bean Dark Lord, and I really dig it. Smooth, complex, but sweet. A touch of heat cuts through, with wet oak, decadent desserty. Some french toast. Really interesting. If you don’t like the sweetness, it might not be you, but I really liked it and found it to be the best treatment (aside from PvW). chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 25, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 Thanks to Kan for this, bottle 327 of 433.... Dark black with a light tan head, shiny black looks like dl... Nose is unreal, smooth real true vanilla, best vanilla note ever, a touch of vanilla, but not much, smells like a really sweet sugar cookie... The taste is super molasses and vanilla, really candyish, a bit too sweet to crush a hole bottle but alcohol is hidden really well

Rating #13000. Testtubesample received from Sir Fonefan! (Thanks a huge lot!!!). Black colour, no head. Aroma is vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, some liquorice, mild alcohol and some fruity notes and mild spirits as well. Flavour is quite much in a marvellous balance. Pure love! 289/433. Aroma is booze, vanilla, roasted coffee, chocolate. Pours jet black, thick. Taste is all brandy, wood, vanilla and chocolate/coffee. Super viscous. Full bodied and incredible. Super smooth....alcohol is nowhere to be detected in the taste. Soft carbonation. Most flavor I’ve ever encountered in a beer. Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2011
On tap. Pours black and opaque with a small brownish head. Distinct vanilla aroma, a little wood. At first very sticky bordering cloying but if patient things blend nicely together. Quite rich-bodied, carbonation being a little low, what appears sticky in the nose now turns into the most delicious Belgian pralines and truffles with some warming alcohol in the finish - never boozy though. A small "bite" of heaven. Wauw, just wauw. 250511

Tap @ Mikkeller. Black with small brown head. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, brandy, vanilla, oak, thick, fruit and a little bitter. Plovmand (8623) - Grindsted, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2011
On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Pours pitch black with a cream dark brown head. The aroma is extremely sweet with notes of vanilla, sweet fruit, chocolate, brown sugar and sweet roasted malt. Sweet malty flavour with notes of sweet caramel, vanilla, bourbon (I know its Brandy but smells like bourbon), candy, brown sugar, roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit like raisins. Bit sticky but very good and heavily complex. fonefan (51109) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAY 31, 2011

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade 8BC, kld., DK-1655 Copenhagen, Denmark.
Dark and pitch black colour with a virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark chocolate, vanilla, light alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic.
Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Cph.
Pours completely oily black with a small, beige rim of foam. Aroma has clear vanilla, sweetness, light chocolate, molasses. Light carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly soft - not as fat the regular. Chocolate, light roasted, clear vanilla, light tree and oak, light vinious. Still sweet as f*ck, just not as oily.
