Bottle thanks to Eric pours out black with a brown ring of a head. Nose is Big Brandy Barrel vanilla roast malts molasses brown sugar. Taste is more of the nice Brandy barrels big vanilla sweet malts chocolate fudge brown sugar molasses coffee.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of vanilla, roasted malt, soy sauce, liquor, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, vanilla, alcohol, and liquor, chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle shared at the Moeder Lambic cellar tasting 2015. thanks to kermis for sharing! bottle 407/433 poured just like the other versions with a dark black colour and a nice beige tanned ring on top of the glass. aroma is just sick on this one. a lot of fruited brandy notes combined with a ton of sweet sticky marshmallows and sweet sticky vanilla, vanilla cream, burned caramel, oak, marzipan, but that sweet vanilla marshmallows sense keeps haning in your nose, the taste is mostlly that strong sweet vanilla notice covered in brandy barrel (but not in a overpowered way). this is just on that same level as the pappy version. it is such an incredible beer. i’m so happy i was able to try this one. thanks again kermis for sharing this beauty.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2015 Bottle shared at the Moeder Lambic cellar session 2015 along with the full 2011 lineup. Pours black with a short lived brown head. Aroma is insane marshmallow upfront, even more than BVDL, brandy coming out, oak, marzipan, dark chocolate and fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet, but not dark lord cloying. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Marshmallow just hanging around in the finish for ages. Just incredible, and so happy to have been able to try this.

Pours a dark brown reddish. Thick viscous, a bit of tan head that dissipates quickly. Smells like vanilla dessert. Tons of roasty malt. Oxidized raisiny aromas. The vanilla comes through strong. Tastes raisin heavy, roasty and fruity. Thick smooth mouthfeel. Boozy, strong, pretty enjoyable. Overall enjoyable but i had hoped it would be more exciting

2011 bottle. 348/433. Huge thanks to Matt. Holy shit. This is amazing. Marshmellows and blow jobs. Sweet, touch of booze. Everything in perfect harmony. Thick and amazing. Best ba darklord ever. Sampled at a Tasting that included the 11 DL variants, BC Rare, ba abraxas, DB huna, both batches kbbs. And this was the best of the night.

"Agreed this is quite a treat. More different from original Dark Lord than I thought it’d be. Quite sweet, but so damn smooth you just don’t care. Not better than the original (trades complexity for a little extra smoothness and a different flavor/aroma) but just as good as a year old bottle, and that’s saying a lot. Brandy influence there, but not overbearing. The vanilla is prominent on top of all the chocolate/coffee/licorice/tar aspects of the original. This tasted like a 15% abv cookie. "
