neongolden (1791) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 2, 2017
(Tap sample @ CBC 2016 Green Session, Copenhagen) Black pour with a tiny head. Aroma and flavour are both extremely sweet, raw sugar and molasses, sweet grape juice, chocolate, light soy, wood, alcohol. Full sticky body with soft carbonation and some substantial boozy burn. The barrel just feeds way too much sweetness into an already sweet base, and smooths out the drying roast but not the booze. I think it's probably rather well-made but for me it's just way too sweet to take more than a couple of sips. Maybe out of a festival environment it's easier? Or if I just imagined it was liqueur? I am not sure.

Bottle. Grinding & Winding tasting, 2017. Pitch black with little tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee, dried fruits, raison, dark fruits, prune. Oaky notes. Heavy sweet and moderate bitter with lingering notes of alcohol and dried fruits. Full and creamy. A good one

Plovmand (8595) - Grindsted, DENMARK - SEP 30, 2017
Bottle at Grinding & Winding in Grindsted tasting. It pours jet black with a beige head. The aroma is big roasted with chocolate, soy, spice and licorice notes. The flavor is sweet roasted with intense soy, sweet fruit, oak, cocoa and prunes. Somewhat over the hill but Dark Lord will always be a favorite.

MrTipple (6000) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2017
Intense caramel and chocolate, dark, moist pralines, cacao, dark toasted, dusty malts. Black, medium, creamy, beige head. Heavy sweet. More sweet dark chocolate, dark, candied fruits, prunes, blackberries, soft carbonation, full bodied, creamy texture, more rich, toasted and sweet flavours of dried fruits and alcohol in the finish. Beautiful Impy, super rich and complex, well-balanced. Keg at MBCC Red Session, Copenhagen.

ciocanelu (2858) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - JUN 1, 2017
Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, red session. Aroma has intense booze, bacon, umami and smoked malt. Taste starts sweet with fried/smoked bacon, quite intense but it gets more balanced towards the finish. Sticky, syrupy body.

Tap @ Mikkeller Beer Celebration 2017 (Red Session)
Dark Lord 2016 - Dwarven Power Bottom (15%) BA Russian Imperial Stout Czarne jak smoła z wysoką, gęstą i trwałą pianą. Miażdżący aromat mokrego drewna, dębiny, zbutwiałych słoi. Masywna, niekończąca się wanilia, kokos, belgijskie pralinki. W smaku pełne wyklejające usta i podniebienie. Wanilia, kawa z mlekiem, czekolada nadziewana, kokos. Gęste jak olej silnikowy, gładkie, kremowe. Alkohol świetnie zamaskowany, rozgrzewa od środka, ale ani na sekundę nie wychodzi przed szereg. Jedno z tych piw, których się nigdy nie zapomina. Genialne!

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2016. Pours an oily black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong sweet dark grains, roasted malts, chocolate and a touch of dark wine backing. Flavor has lots of sweet dark grains, chocolate and roasted malts with just touch of wine barrel.
