What can I say about Dark Lord? Well it starts with my experience of it and that clouds my rating which Dark Lord received a perfect score. My first courting of the DL came at Dark Lord Day this past Saturday. I went with my buddy who got the tix (big thanks to to Big Mike). I had so much fun standing in line for 5 hours, who would of figured that. I got to share some of the best beers I the world with new friends that we met that day. I also got to taste 3 different vintages and types of Dark Lord. This stout is close to perfection. I hope to get tickets every year because it truly is an honor to be at DLD. The event is fitting for a stout this good. Completely black, wonderful nose, tastes of chocolate and balanced better than the suspension on a Ferrari. It takes a festival to honor the 'craft' of this beer. I refuse to say more about the beer as you must taste it...experience it for yourself. Three Floyd's is a world class brewery that has mastered the stout, the pale ale and the IPA, please don't grow FFF you are perfect now. I bow and submit in honor of this brewery and a perfect stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013 vintage
Thick and sticky with sweetness. Amazing fullness. So very sweet it’s almost unbearable. Molasses and malty caramely sweet thickness

Rocznik 2017. Trzeba przyznać, że wspaniale się prezentuje - oleiście i gęsto się nalewa, czarne, nieprzejrzyste, piana drobnopęcherzykowa, zbita, ładnie koronkuje i dość długo się utrzymuje. Aromat: silna wanilia, czekolada, śliwka i ..sos sojowy + żelazo?? Raczej średnio. uu ale to się pije - mega gęste i oleiste, faktura morduje, melasa, tony czekolady, wanilia, śliwka, wiśnie, kawa z mlekiem i jednak sos sojowy jest gdzieś tam wyczuwalny. Alkohol wręcz mistrzowsko ukryty. Bomba #teamcukrzyca. Świetne piwo, ale piłem sporo lepszych.

Backlog. 2014 Vintage. Soy sauce, caramel, toffee, molasses, chocolate. Great full, oily body.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2017 Dark Lord vertical notes: 2009 - roast and caramel. Some dark chocolate. A little rust from age. Black pour with ok head. Not what I’d call superior. Some soy 2010 - chocolate. Roast and caramel. Oily. Rust like 2009 but a little less. Still overrated. 2012 - sugar bomb. Mostly caramel and chocolate. Oily. A mess.

Slodka i gesta bomba aromatow i smakow w czarnym kolorze z niskim wysyceniem i goryczka na srednim poziomie. Ladna piana, alkohol praktycznie niewyczuwalny, dlugo by opisywac wszystkie cechy. Zdecydowanie MUST TRY!

Pours a pitch black with a light head. Slightly smokey on the nose, soy sauce, balsamic, but slightly minty and grassy. Very complex. Incredibly smooth. Syrup vibe. Medium bitterness, umami, complex bodied and smooth finish. Hard to find any faults.

garroch (53) - New York, USA - JUN 17, 2017
Poured from a bottle that was traded for the blood of two first born children. Smells of coffee and bourbon, vanilla and dark fruit. Chunky carbonation with a thin wispy head. Tastes like goddamn molasses with coffee and chocolate, with a lingering finish of plum and pure distilled sin. 15% alcohol expertly hidden beneath layers of syrup and caramel and satanic trickery. If this beer were music it would sound like Egyptian sludge metal. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
