DTM (798) - Vacaville, California, USA - MAY 31, 2012
Bottle shared with Timfoolery and DgdrBlu. Pour a dark brown with little to no head. Tasted of Dark chocolate molasses and all that good stuff. This was my kind of beer and it lived up to the hype.

Thanks, Jane! Bomber. 2017 release. Green wax. Pours black, no head. Aroma is soy sauce first and foremost. Then dark roasty malt (very roasty), cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate. Sweetness behind the intensely roasty nose and soy sauce predominance. Flavor is chocolate, cinnamon, roasted malt, sugar, some soy sauce. Wow, that's incredibly sweet as it warms. And very roasty. Some bitterness in that finish. Not bad. I see why some love it and I see why some people say it's a diabetes soy sauce bomb. I enjoy it.

2011 bottle. Aroma explodes out of the pour of chocolate, coffee, soy sauce. Time has softened the harder edges of flavor with huge but smooth sweet flavor of roasted coffee, mocha, and vanilla. Mouthfeel is full bodied and the finish is amazingly long. Lived up to the hype.

Tide (4063) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 9, 2017
Bottle from Mikkeller bottle shop (2014 version). Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, toffee, dried fruits, soy and a bit of leather. Bitter finish with roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, soy, coffee, toffee, dried fruits and caramel. Exquisite imperial stout.

Ritzn (1656) - GERMANY - AUG 31, 2017
Green wax. Black with medium brown head. Aroma is black chocolate, slight smoky, fishy, caramel, doppelbock flavours, wood, some milky syrup. Taste is intense soy sauce, very sweet, syrupy, fishy, condensed milk. Too sweet. Ok.

FinnIckler (764) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle. Pours pitch black. Nose is molasses, iron, coffee, vanilla, chocolate. Palate is metalic chocolate, soy sauce, coffee. Not as good as I would have though.

jonas (7757) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle 2017 edition. Darkest...its black, dark brown lace ring. Toasted bread, tomatoes, molasis, wood smoke, some doppelbock notes. Sugary soy sauce entry, hop oils dissolved in the booze, good profile overall. Still drinkable and not too cloying, but still a bit unbalanced to the sweet side. Banoffee cake. Roast, iodine, copper, chocolate aftertaste.

anstei (2470) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - AUG 31, 2017
Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting. Pours black with a soft brown head. Aroma is chocolate, soy sauce, coffee, vanilla. Body is heavy, sweet, strong and really a chocolate syrup. Also soy sauce. Super intense. Lingering hot chocolate palate. Very good!

(bottle) pitch black in colour with a frothy dark beige head. aroma of earth and pumpernickel, with a light touch of sugar icing, some toasted malts, treacle, earth and coffee liqueur. flavour is mostly earth, bubble gum and watermelon, heavily sugary, with lots of stone fruit, some caramel and a light-bitter treebark finish. heavy-bodied with average carbonation. it's ok.

Smooth, rich and velvety with an unbelievable aroma. Coffee, vanilla upfront with an oak and sweet dark raisin hit on the back end. You definitely taste the alcohol but it is well balanced with the hops and malts. Think of Bourbon County stout on steroids! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
