Eben emael. On tap at 3f. Served in a snifter... Comes out with a mostly non-transparent orange caramel hue and topped with a fluffy vivid white head... Assertive aroma of centralized citrus and tropical fruit, somewhat sweeter through the middle, a lesser more tamed beastthan shark pants it seems. Belgian yeas still have a presence here.. Flavors are bittersweet for the most parts with a nice balance between sweet and hoppy. Citrusy fruity hop profile upfront then co- existing almost simultaneously with a thicker sweet sugar based malt.
More enjoyable with a slightly more than average pithy bitter finish.
Belgian yeast held in heck and not as prominent compared to some recent offerings that I’ve had locally in Chicago. Medium bodied, not too light with an adequate carbonation level.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy, orange-golden colored body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma has a solid Belgian yeast and citrus hop mix. Some pineapple, orange, and tropical fruits with pines, florals, and a light bubble gum hint. Flavor is a bit more bitter. Fruity pines up front with some lemon grass, orange florals, and a light tropical fruit. Light bubble gum and a nice Belgian yeast balances with a light malt sweetness. Finishes dry with a moderate grassy bitterness and a nice fruity Belgian yeast that leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a solid Belgian pale ale. Well hopped and nicely balanced with solid, fruity Belgian yeast. Enjoyable beer. Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2011
Served on draft at Argus in Madison, WI at the GTMW pre-party. Pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a large white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of leafy, bitter hops, stone fruits and a spicy finish. The taste is citrus, stone fruits, nutty notes and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Damn good. ekoerper (599) - Iowa, USA - AUG 8, 2011
Tap at the pub. Aroma: fresh, pungent, floral hops, citrus, fruity Belgian yeast notes, fantastic. Pours hazy golden with fluffy white head, average retention with lots of lacing. Flavor is quite fruity, both from the hops and Belgian yeast, orange and lemon, some grapefruit. Firm bitterness, but hidden behind the hop flavor and fruity esters. Light and delicate malt flavor, well balanced. Light-medium body and medium-high carbonation, very nice brew. LilBeerDoctor (4193) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 31, 2011
On tap at the Hop Leaf in Chicago. Pours a cloudy orange red with a thick white head. Aroma of lots of citrus hops and hop oils. Flavor of lots of citrus hops, some bready/wheaty malt with just a hint of yeast. A very hoppy Belgian ale and quite tasty too.

Sampled at the brewpub on a recent trip thanks to my good friend Kan.The pour gave a golden murky color with a bit of white head. Very nice mouth feel. A bit of bready yeasty character intertwined with some good lemony, grapefruit flavors. The hops are well balanced for the style. Liked this beer and stoked to sample it. On tap at the brewpub.
Aroma: Lots of clove and yeast. Pinneaples and tropical fruits saved this one.
Appearance: Yellow-orange pour, nice foamy ring.
Flavors: Very fruity (mandarine and orange), citrus hops. The yeast is not too present unlike the aroma would suggest.
Palate: Light carbonation and full body.
Overall: Quite good.

Hazy gold in color with a white head. Citra-pine hoppy aroma and taste.

10oz pour @ Hopleaf. Poued a thick dense yellow almost orange. The nose has a heavy dose of bubble gum and spice. The flavor has a ton of that bubble gum with some sweetness and a straightforward bitterness. It strikes me as an oversimplified Belgian. Medium bodied with easy carbonation leading to a dry finish. Enjoyable... Tmoney99 (14952) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 9, 2011
Draft sample. Poured hazy yellow color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate citrus and bubblegum aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture with soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Very interesting beer.
