Tap at FFF. Filtered transparent tan-orange. Thin, steady, creamy head. Medium bodied, very clean, very smoky, could sit next to a Schlenkerla. Meaty smoked malt, golden malt too. I love smoked beers.Pours a mostly clear and clean orangey hue and topped with a creamy white head Aroma of smoke. On tap at Bigby’s Pour House in Addison, IL., and shaker served with a hazed, yellow/golden hue, a lasting hat of fluffy, white head foam, and curtainy cling to the coating swirls of lacing. The nose was mild malt, but mainly expressive, smoky, "slim jim" meatiness. The flavor added a touch of leather, but was dominated by a more than medium dose of lingering, earthy, tanniny, and dry bitterness that carried into the finale. Enjoyed on tap at Smallbar Division in Chicago, IL while hanging out with my cousin after he returned home from LA. I didn’t take tasting notes on this one, but remember this being an average smoked lager from this great brewery. They’ve done some pretty great stuff with smoked beers, including Ham on Rye, but this one was just average.

On tap from a dimpled mug shared with dad. Mug was either warmed intentionally or just from the dishwasher because the handle was still quite warm though it made the temperature of the beer perfect as it balanced out. Pale yellow, sweet earthy and malty bread and toasty smoked aroma. Flavor was strong with smoked oysters, bread, earthiness, and crisp medium dry with a lasting smoky finish. Medium body. Half pint nonic pour at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a nice looking head. At first I thought I got the wrong beer because there was no smoke but I needed to let it warm. Mild smoke on a clean, white bread malted lager. Simple and straight to the point. Light noble hoppiness breaking though. Half pint pour at the source... Pours a mostly clear and clean ciders orangey hue and topped with a creamy yet thin white head... Aroma of mild smoke, toasted grain, bread, along with a light grassy backdrop... Flavors of light smoke, sweeter grain through the middle and finish. Somewhat crisp overal but the sweetness is a touch too much. Light grassy bitterness in the backend. Level of smoke is fairly tame overall. This poured a clear darker to pale yellow with a white head. Aroma was lighter smokey meats, some light grain and grassy hops. Flavor was smoked bacon, but a bit subdued, with pretty solid lager base. Probably my faovirite smoked lager that ive had.
