Bottle… Pours black with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The aroma is an elegant blend of confectionery and tree nuts - fudge, chocolate dipped almonds, cashews and pistachios. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is chocolaty, nutty and moderately sweet. Finishes minerally, roasty and mildly bitter. Bottle generously shared by landhoney! Sampled at an esbls tasting. Black with a tan head. A coffee aroma. Thatbis tasted, too. Chocolate is a second flavor. I taste no sea food and just a hint of salt. Hops come in very late with citrus bitterness. ryanfolty (2584) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - JUL 21, 2012

Aroma: roasty, some coffee, molasses, lots of dark chocolate. Pours black with a half inch of tan head, good retention and lacing. Flavor is mellow roast and coffee, dark chocolate abounds, toasty, some salt / brine character. Bitterness is low-medium, there is a touch of sweetness in the finish. Medium-full body, fairly dry finish, medium carbonation. j12601 (12979) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 15, 2012

Malty, sweet, more roast and a bit of salinity. Long creamy roast with a good bit of sweet char and caramel. napdynmite (91) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 15, 2012

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a creamy tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice light coffee and roasted malt note with a hint of creaminess. Flavor begins with roasted malts and mellows in to a creamy slightly sweet chocolate note. italarican (1549) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Bottle at Paul’s. Aroma is a mix of chocolate and rocks (I know what I mean in my head). Notes of chocolate and molasses with a slight burn. Syrupy body with slightly dry finish.
