Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Golden beer with a big lasting white head. Malty smoked aroma, roasted, bready, sweetish. Smoked flavor, grassy, malty, fruity, toffee notes, hoppy. Nice balanced with the smoke not getting too overwhelming.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2012 Draft at Jerry’s. Amber with big, foamy, beige head / Understated nose of smoke, salami, and herb / Medium body, lightly sweet, creamy, with very good balance and dry finish / Mellow flavors of ham, smoke, Swiss cheese, and rye spice / One of the best smoked beers I’ve tried.

Amber with a small dense head. The aroma is smokey, with some sweet malt. The flavor adds some rye and a sweet lingering finish. Pretty complex.

This brew is just crazy. Smells smokey. Tastes like the ham I had for breakfast with my grits this morning. Crazy. Smokiness is there too...but thankfully it is not overpowering at all.

Definitely geared towards a bacony taste. Not as good as a good Rauchbier, but a solid experimental offering. It went down quickly.

Just completely bizarre. Smells like cheese and ham. Amber color and kind of cloudy. Lacing is ok with a decent head. Mouth has a slight burn to it. Taste is very much ham on rye. Exactly what the name suggests and totally wild. You have to try it, but drink more than 1? I don’t know about that.

On tap at FFF, fresh and clean. Amber brown with a big off white head. Soft smoky aroma with some mild soapy notes. Delicate mouthfeel, medium to full bodied. Perfectly executed, a really nice Rauchbier. Rich, smoky caramel tones. Mild delicate hops provide balance. Nice.

Weird beer! They achieved what they set out to this beer basically tastes like a ham on rye sandwich. The rye is the big flavor, but there is definitely a smokey hamy flavor as well. I think this might have been aged in spam tins...
