draft at 3F....nice appearance: deep, muddled apricot-like color with a think white head....aroma was citrussy for the most part....taste was very citrusy and refreshing. a lot of grapefruit and a little pine added to boot. it had a nice balance of yeast as well and had a slightly bitter finish in the end. Tap at brewery: Bronze hued with a small ring of foam and some lace. The aroma has notes of syrup, pear, grapefruit, lemongrass, biscuity malts and Belgium yeast. The taste has a sharp bitterness over a yeasty dusty base. Sweet malts come through in the middle and the beer is finished off with a fruity and astringent character. The mouth feel has a bite but is ultimately smooth and very drinkable. Very nice take on the hoppy Belgian style beers to come out lately. I dig it! rowefam3 (70) - kendallville, Indiana, USA - NOV 23, 2007
I havn’t anything else to compare this to in this style. It did seem very spicy. No alcohol came thru, which is good. Had an interesting sweetness to it. Kind of like a belgian triple. Dark copper color. SQNfan (591) - Wheaton, Illinois, USA - JAN 7, 2008
Drank at Three Floyd’s Brewing Company during the 2007 Dark Lord Day: Toward the end of a long day... it showed mainly hops but had some malt that balanced it out and added a touch of sweetness. While quite nice, I prefer the other "hoppy" beers from FFF. BabyJoe692 (109) - Pickerington, Ohio, USA - JAN 25, 2008
Draft. Pours dark coppery in color. A sweet malt and light hop aroma. A well balanced beer starting off sweet and finishing with hops.

Draught at the brewpub. Orangey amber with a moderate foamy off-white head, nice lacing. Yeasty aroma with a faint hop finish. Rich malty clovey flavor. Finishes dry and mildly bitter. Fairly creamy medium bodied.

Draft at the brewpub. My girlfriend ordered it, took a few sips, then gave it to me. See kids, this is why you need a girlfriend. Orange amber pour with foamy head. Yeasty aroma of apples, candy sugar. Flavor is fruity, spicey, low hoppiness. Pretty good american take on a belgian pale. kaser (6382) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Had this from draft at 3 Floyds brewpub. Orange pour with white head. FLoral tropical aroma. This wasn’t very Belgium tasting, more like a pale ale - good hops and fruity taste. Good beer. olr1984 (1530) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 19, 2014
On tap at the Indianapolis city market. Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Tropical hop taste. Great Belgian ale.

Tulip at FFF. Poured a hazy yellow-amber with a towering foam head which left behind lovely Belgian lacing. Aroma was bright hops and bread dough. Taste exhibited the typical spiciness for the style, but with a stronger citrus hop bite. Seemed a little undercarbonated, but otherwise a very nice effort.
