Draft at FFF. Served in a short Stein Glass. Roasty chocolate-coffee aroma. Black-brown with a steady beige head. Rich, medium bodied. An excellent Schwarzbier, perfectly balance between the rich malty chocolate tones and the faint peppery hop bitterness. Perfectly sessionable, a touch hoppier than a typical European example. Awesome. railcat1 (702) - Kissimmee, Florida, USA - AUG 4, 2010
On tap, this poured black with a nice head,it had very little hops but a big malt presence, flavors of chocolate and coffee and dry in the finish but overall a nice change for FFF and tasty.CHEERS SrSilliGose (3331) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 24, 2010

Growler fill from FFF. Pours Near black-brown with offwhite head. Nose is cocoa, a hint of roast and toast, no hop aroma. Some light toffee as well. On taste, very soft and round with more cocoa and sweetness. Toffee makes another appearance. Finishes pretty dry, though is also quite luxurious in the mouthfeel. Pretty fantastic Schwarz. bobbypaulson (217) - Fergus Falls, Minnesota, USA - JUN 24, 2011

On tap at Three Floyd’s brewpub.
Aroma:Lots of malt, some yeasty aroma.
Appearance:Dark, dark brown, nearly opaque. Ok head retention with poor to medium lacing.
Taste:On the first sip, I get tons of caramel. I also get some dark bitter notes. Lots of dark roasted malt. Some nuttyness in the aftertaste. Some mild fruity esters.
Palate:Smooth, no astringency, good carbonation. Light mouthfeel.
Overall:This is almost perfectly spot on for it’s style, easily drinkable. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - SEP 7, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black body with a thin, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweet milk and dark chocolates with a light, chalky roast. A bit of a lactose sweetness in there too. Flavor is similar. Roasty with plenty of rich chocolates and a bit of a dark fruit in there too. Some sweeter caramel before this finishes dry with a nice roast and very light bitterness. Plenty of flavor in a lengthy aftertaste following a lighter, smooth body and light amount of creamy carbonation. Overall, a very nice schwarzbier. Lots of flavor and easy drinking. Perfect example of the style. Solid. tjthresh (1875) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - SEP 12, 2010
Growler that I picked up from FFF. Pours dark brown with some transparent garnet edges. Nose of black malts and clean German yeast. A bit of roasted flavor with a pilsnerish finish. Dry and medium/full body. SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - SEP 27, 2010
Draught at Local Option. I’m glad this lasted til the weekend because I missed out on it when they put in on at the 3F night last tuesday... Dark brown with a black/red thing going on. Malty, toasty aroma with light chocolate. Nice chocolate flavors and light spicy hops. Toasty and malty and never gets too roasty, just smooth rich chocolate. Medium-light body with smooth carbonation. My third lager form these guys in a week, and another solid one. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - OCT 25, 2010
GABF 2010. Very good schwarzbier. chestnut brown pour. roasted malts & coffee dominate here in both flavor & aroma. Nice medium mouthfeel. Job well done
