Bottle pours deep dark brown and ruby hues. Nose lots of aromatic hop, pine, resin, tropical fruit. Taste bitter up front, the the dark roast/burnt typical of black IPA. Some balancing sweetness. Bitter finish with slight soapy hop. Black IPA has never been one of my favorite styles, but this one not bad.

22oz bottle pours rich dark brown with 2 finger tan head. Nose is musty, dusty, coffee grinds and fruity pine. Taste is roasty cocoa and coffee up front with a finish of subtle citrus fruit and pine. Nice.

Bomber from Three Floyds brewpub pours an opaque black with creamy tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma is full of pine resin, roasted malts and grapefruit. Taste is mostly bitter with lots of roasted malts, and even some chocolate and coffee in the middle before the big hoppy FFF signature finish. Body is medium with slight carbonation and a sticky, oily mouthfeel. A very well balanced black IPA which exceeded my expectations

Bottle from Three Floyds. Pours solid black with a continually growing head. Aroma is typical Black IPA - roasted malt and C-hops. Taste is ultra roasty, with light chocolate notes, licorice, light floral/citrus hops, and a huge bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice Black IPA.

Sampled at esbls. Interesting looking dark brown. Little head. This has fairly big bitterness. Grapefruit. It numbs my yongue. Dark grains. Definitely has the FFF attitude. A bit gnarly and quite interesting.

Bottle. Poured hazy dark brown with a large frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and earthy hop with a small alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a dry slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good complex beer.

22oz bottle, shared by nuplastikk. Very dark brown red color. Kinda clear around the edges. Thin light brown head, couple bits of lace. Awesome roasty, earthy malt, and herbal earthy hop aroma in the nose. Medium-plus body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Lightly dry. Smooth, lightly soft, lighter carbonation. Light smoke. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet.. Roasty, earthy longer aftertaste. Solid, assertive black IPA. Big on the dark malts and herbal notes.

22 oz. bottle shared by nuplastikk- thanks a lot, Greg! Pours a cloudy dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, chocolate, earth, toast, dust, and a bit of rubber. Flavor is the same, with some more roast and florals. Medium-bodied, with a roasty, bitter mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Hardcore. Tasty BIPA.
