Bottle @ ZZT VII, thx to everyone for sharing their bottles. Black IPA with the balance towards the roasted or dark malts. For me lacks hop aroma. Still a nice drink. Imperial_Scout (363) - Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Pours dark brown. Hops are present in the aroma but they are a bit off balance. Palate was a bit oily ofr a black ipa. Not bad but not my favortie black ipa. Martinus (4692) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2013
Dark brown colour, white head. Aroma of hops, liquorice, caramel, roasted malts. Bitter hops flavour, malts, liquorice and sweet malts. Bitter hops finish, malts and caramel.

(From 75cL bottle @ ZZT VII, Oirschot. Thanks for sharing, kermis!)
Poured from a 500mL bottle into a chalice. Pours dark brown, almost black. Thick brown head. Aroma is hoppy with layers of malt. There are notes of spices, pepper, and coriander. Flavour is loaded with hops up front with notes grapefruit and lemon. On the back end the dark malts start to come through but the hops win from start to finish which surprised me considering this is a black IPA. Overall a nice hoppy black IPA. Bottle shared by Kermis @ ZZT VII. Dark brown color with a nice red glare coming through, full sized good lacing, a bit creamy beige head. Smell malts, hops, lightly dark and roasted malts. Taste malts, dark malts, hops, bitter, lightly fruity. A bit off balance. Nice to drink, but not the best black IPA.

Bottle @ ZZT7 thx to Kermis. Ruby colour with a medium beige head. Smells kinda special. Dark, roasty malts, some herbs, rye. Tastes rye, dark malts, slightly grassy, bitterish. Medium body, nice carbo. kermis (14494) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2013
Tasted at ZZT 7. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, biscuit, grassy hops. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. andyhwcinc (1884) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Enjoyed at Dorothy's in Chicago, IL while hanging out with my cousin on his birthday. Appearance cloudy dark brown with thin off white head. Aroma strong in hops and dark chocolate malt, smells great. Taste is abrasive and hoppy. Goes down dry and bitter. Great stuff. jar72404 (426) - USA - MAY 23, 2013
On tap at brewpub. Black with thin tan head. Aroma is grapefruit and roastiness. Flavor is the same plus some chocolate. Very nice. dmac (6438) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - MAY 23, 2013
Bomber shared at Kane on the Thursday of Memorial Day weekend shared by a BA cool kat. Poured a medium to slightly thinner bodied dark chocolate brown with an average sized dark beige foamy head. Aroma was like a roasted grapefruit along with chocolate, citrus notes, hint of rye spiceyness, dark toast, burnt grains, hot chocolate mix with malts. The body is medium but straddles the line of being on the thin side, carbonation is stronger and overall I wish it had a creamy feel vs the usual bubbly carbonation which this one does. The flavor was solid with a chocolate roasted grapefruit being the first thing to pop in mind, rye seeds and grains along with citrus rinds and even some pine round this one out. Good beer.
