Reddish brown. Ripe dark fruits with light sugary molasses. Flavor is soft dark fruits with a touch of grain, toast, and a hint of brown sugar/molasses. Top notch. drdisque (886) - Illinois, USA - MAR 25, 2017
On tap at Tuman’s. Pours ruddy brown. Flavor is rich sweet caramel but light bodied. Good depth of flavor. Really a prototypical dubbel. hotstuff (5274) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 24, 2017
This draft beer’s appearance is a very small tan head that is fully lasting throughout my rating, hazy reddish brown body and one ring of lacing. The aroma is yeasty, dark fruit, banana, toffee, and caramel malt. The flavor is dark fruit, banana, toffee, semi-sweet, caramel malt, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and some ABV warmth. This beer is light-medium bodied. This is a very, very good tasting beer. The flavors meet up very nicely and make for another enjoyable Three Floyds beer. It is worth trying and a beer that I would partake in again. nuplastikk (6479) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 11, 2017
Tap at FFF, tulip glass. Deep brown-black body. Big, steady, beige head. Thick black malt...deeper side of a Dubbel. Raisin. Rich and thick, sort of reminiscent of a big Weizenbock too. Sweet, nice doughy malts, but not so much depth. Roasty. Kind of all over the place Belgian Dark Ale. Coffee? arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, raisin, some banana, hints of caramel, toffee as well. Taste was a mix of caramel, slight earth, spice into dark fruits, banana, clove, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry.

Black with foamy off white head. Fruity and licorice aroma. Flavors of banana, licorice, leather, black licorice - comes together nicely. Poured from draft at World of Beers in Evanston. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAR 3, 2015
[Tap] Copper in color. Head is small but dense. Tons of sweet Belgian yeasty aroma. Bubblegum, clove, banana and some sticky toffee come out in the nose. Flavors of caramel syrup, candi sugars, yeasty esters and dough. Pretty syrupy. Alcohol is well masked. OK, but I wan’t overly impressed by this. crossovert (14038) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2015
Draft. Somewhat boozy dark dubbel/quad type ale, belgian strong dark, dark fruits and and some esters. b3shine (9208) - Indiana, USA - FEB 19, 2015
Draft to taster at FFF. Looks solid; a semi-transparent darker brown with foamy light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast, clove, and banana with what seems like a touch of chocolate in the background. Tastes like it smells, sans the chocolate, with a fairly smooth medium to medium full-bodied mouthfeel. A solid spin on the style. rxeight (3283) - Illinois, USA - FEB 17, 2015
Draft at the brewpub. Somewhere in the dark Abby realm. Almost, but not quite a quad. Lots of dark fruit, raisins, the purée middle of a fig newton. A fair amount of sweetness - candied sugar. For the style it’s pretty good.
