3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I didn’t have the info to add this to the database. Just getting around to adding the review. Had it a day or two after tapping. Not sure what "non-collaboratively" brewed means, but I heard that somewhere. [A] Seemingly signature hops. Herbal. The pale bready malts are what really stand out to me. [A] Imperial pint. Orange beer. With a gorgeous cap of foam. [F] Biscuity pale malt is the winner here. Citrusy hops balance nicely. Not complex. No Alpha King, either. But a VERY enjoyable pale. [P] This would make a great session brew. Could have downed a bunch. Mouth was light & crisp. [O] This doesn’t even border "extreme" or "not normal". Just a great, easy going beer from two great local brewers. I think. Kind of disappointing that 3F brewed @ Half Acre for a collabo that wasn’t released at DLD. Even more disappointing THIS collabo wasn’t bottled at all. Hopefully it will be a repeat, like Ham On Rye.
Tap at Piece. Bright citrus tinged Pale Ale. Far and away the best beer I had on tap there..but I suppose it is really a FFF beer. Classic base malt, fruity melon tropical hops. Light and easy, but big hop tones. Right on. Barnoloid (386) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2014
Draft pour at brewpub. Deep gold with an orange hue. Mild citrus nose. Good blend of hops with a minimal, unobtrusive malt profile. Enjoyable and easy drinking. Christpuncher (3215) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 26, 2014
Three floyds can not go wrong. Very hoppy and citruscy. It is similar to some of their other iPas. Really crushable and pours orange in color. HD at dark lord day.

Draft; Hazy amber/orange color; Medium body; Aroma of floral hops, light pine, & some fruit/citrus; Flavor of malt, yeast, pine/floral hops, and citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; Nicely balanced; Pretty good. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2014
[Tap] Draught at the Piece brewpub. Golden in color with a distinct amount of haze to it. Floral hop nose. More citrus in the flavor. Grass, lemon zest, and hoppy herbal notes as well. Pretty decent, but I would take either Piece’s The Weight or 3F’s Alpha King over this.

Draft at piece. Pours gold with white head. Nose is pine needles, peach, and mango pulp. Flavors are bright and juicy, loads of mango, tangerine, all balanced by spruce needles. Some sweet juicy candied thing. Malt base is your basic 2row + a light crystal , bit malty but generic. Bit too bitter. Great hop flavor here and really curious about the hops used but I wonder if they changed things since the first time this was brewed seems like some citra, Nelson, or mosaic here and amazingly no onion/garlic/diesel. Was not expecting this hop bomb. WillDunn (28) - - MAR 14, 2014
Fresh on tap. Considering the brewers, I hope for more with this one. Piece's lauded The Weight, also an APA and also on tap, was on tap and I switched over. This beer is light, refreshing, but has no there there. kaser (6430) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 23, 2014
