3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Clear and deep golden coloured with almost no head. A bit too thin bodied. Somewhat sweet and a bit hoppy. A bit too alcoholic and not as well balanced as I had hoped for.
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong malt and caramel. Medium mouth, dark fruit, caramel, bitter finish, good. Dfonorow (2274) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 19, 2016
Bottle from 2009. Pour is dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavor of sweet malt, dark fruit, floral hops, and booze. Finish has more hops left than I expected from the age. TorbenJensen (1572) - Valby, DENMARK - OCT 5, 2015
Nice amber color with foamy head. Flavor of peaches and pine needles. Low carbonated with warming alcohol. Deeply tasting peaches and lot of dried candied fruit with a little malty finish. A little tasty mild hop in the end, just enough to make sure it´s a beer and not a wine. Can be shared with a good friend or just to be enjoyed alone, while thinking big. kbutler1 (1382) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 2, 2015
Bottle. Vintage. Pours a copper orange color with minimal head. Malty aroma, honey. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet, malty, grape, caramel. Minimal alcohol notes. As this is vintage, any hop notes have pretty much faded at this point. Gaultier (1881) - SWEDEN - AUG 31, 2014

Bottle @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen 14/7-14. Heavy malty and fruity with caramelly and toffee notes, sweet with some alcoholic notes, smooth mouthfeel, medium to full body with an oily texture. A bit thin flavor. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - JUN 26, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Ed. Muddled copper-amber body, nearly no head, just a few stray bubbles outlining the edges. Aroma of dry grains & barley, stale toast, steel-y caramel, & a hint of sweet prune. Maybe some black licorice. Taste is a mix of old caramel with stale, earthy hops. Mild toffee, toasted rye bread, & light raisins in the finish. Oxidation is starting to set in a bit, as there’s an off note of staleness that lingers. Lightly sticky. Never been a fan of the Three Floyds "-goop" series, this one is merely "okay", at best. In all fairness, it might be past its prime, too. Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, light aged citrus hops, toffee, faint vanilla, and oxidation. It pours a transparent amber with a small off-white head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel with a hint of citrus. The finish really dies off with some faint oxidation and aged citrus hops. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.
Bomber purchased at one of the recent FFF cellar clearing sales. Nose is a decent barleywine. Sweet and spicy hard ribbon candy. Taste is English style barleywine. Any sweetness that was there is gone? Touh of old stale hops. You can tell this was hoppy when fresh 4 or 5 years ago. Ok. Possibly past it’s prime. I liked the rugg I had a couple weeks ago better. This convinced me not to track down the oldest goop, the only one I need to still tick. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - NOV 7, 2013
