Bottle courtesy of Greg. I think. Either way, he is pretty swell, so I will give him credit here. Hopefully this was from Joe. Suck it, Redner. Amber orange body, slightly hazy. Small, tight dirty white head that has some decent retention and light lacing. I like the color on this one so I will bump the appearance up a bit. Citrus fruits, floral hops, grapefruit hops, caramel and some malty notes make up the interesting nose. Flavor profile is pretty dead on with the nose, with the floral hops taking center stage to my palate. Medium bodied with some good carbonation that makes it feel heftier than it probably is. Finish is medium length, caramel sweet and floral, with a touch of citrus bite. Good.
amber color; bready, malty aroma; a good, well-balanced Oktoberfest; a decent amount of bitterness with a bready malt background phranq (174) - - NOV 2, 2016

Bottle from trade. Pretty nice for a style I have really really enjoyed only a few of. This is straight forward bread and toffee...well done. Surprisingly not as richly malty as my favorites in style. TAR (2742) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - JAN 20, 2016
Rusty orange. Straightforward but pleasant aroma of plum, honeyed toast, cookie, hazelnut and hay. Fluffy carbonation. Full body. Punchy Munich gives substantial weight as do plummy esters. Good textural grip to the deep toast, which hints at melanoidins at times and adequately wards off any excessive plummy slickness. Lovely blend of tobacco softness, hay dust and marzipan extends from the well-extracted maltiness. Dab of floral notes adds a refined touch and softens the body. Finishes beefy, fully malty and toasty, with toasted bread and restrained hop spice lingering. A straightforward example, and a tad underattenuated to me, but thankfully it is a serious rendition and not dry-hopped or something silly or Americanized. Pretty easy to like. The $10 price tag is very unreasonable, though. For around $3.00 a bomber, I’d be drinking this again.
