Tap at FFF. Big, foamy off-white head on top of a filtered golden-orange body. Certainly has some Saki tones as well as Imperial Lager. Unique. Herbal, medicinal feel, but also smooth and well brewed enough to remain drinkable. Not the kind of beer I’d eagerly revisit. Tastes like a DFH beer with a smoother malt bill. Menthol tinged boozy Saki tones. Interesting.

Draft: Pours clear amber with a short, off-white head. Rice, tart citrus aroma.... Taste is rice, peach, citrus.... Sweet, followed by an abrupt alcohol bitter.....grainy.. Ok, but hoped for a smoothness befitting it’s namesake.

Draft. Lemon and light malt aroma - subtle. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet syrupy malt and lemon flavor. Bitter alcohol finish. Rough and not particularly pleasant. Poor George - he deserves better - maybe they will make a "La Reine Blanche" witbier to make up for it.

Tap. Poured a clear golden color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting and produced excellent lacing. Moderate rice and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting brew and good for style.

Hides the high ABV well. Draft pour at three Floyds. Orange with white head. Very sweet. Must be the saki. Good for the style.

Un énorme bouquet de fleurs et des pointes d’éthanol très perçantes. L’aspect saké est vraiment bien intégré, intéressant.

This was a good, stronger take on some the Japanese style lagers. It had a somewhat distinct yeast note. Smooth, sweet, very light. Alcohol is potent and it makes the beer seem on the strong side.

On tap @ Strong Ale 2014. Lightly hazed golden pour with white foam. Sort of a sharp alcohol aroma to this as well as a lot of undercooked rice and a general grainy character. Really sugary. Flavor has sort of a cauliflower, crunchy rice, and fusel thing to it. Definitely a high boost cabbage beer. Japanese malt liquor? Super grainy and sweet. Scroll past. Too bad, I was hoping this would be good.

Draft sample at Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest 2014. Cloudy golden pour, with a white head. Bready, sweet sugary, raw grain, a bit boozy, fruit, and some raw vegetable. Weird beer, not bitter at all. Ok.

Very unique. Very Kolsch/Lager type aroma. The taste is a bit sweet. You can definitely taste the sake. Smooth mouth feel. Not bitter at all which is surprising given its Three Floyds. A great beer though. Definitely "Not Normal". ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
