A: Pours a dark copper-like color with minimal head. Leaves an off-white film on the top.
S: Hints of fruity berries come out with some nice malts. A little burn is on the back end of the nose as well.
T: Nice sweet fruits with some bitters through out the middle and slight beginning. Sweetness of the apples and pears comes back at the end. A little heat on the back end which ties all the complexities together.
M: Nice and creamy with a medium body. Medium carbonation and a nice coating of the tongue to give a lingering dark fruit taste.
O: My first FFF barleywine and I was impressed. You go some fruits, some malts and some heat that all make up some great components of a good, if not great, barelywine.

Tap at BrewDog Bar Aberdeen. It pours hazy deep orange, with a thick off-white head. The nose is dark fruit (plum, raisin, fig and cherry), pine, leaf, sour dough bread, honey and alcohol. The taste is sweet raisin, currant, grape, strawberry, plum, cherry, fig, tangerine, resin, pine, spice and alcohol warmth, with a bitter finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Well balanced. The appearance is effervescent and inviting. Owd Engwish has an amber copper hue with tints of brown and a fluffy white head. Nice retention and some lacing is left down the side of the glass.
A little bit of barnyard funk wafts into the nose first, with dark fruits and caramel malt. Some white grape, tangerine, and a variety of citrus and floral hops. Some booze. Nice complexity in the nose, but the funk drops it a bit for me.
The taste is sweet to start, as I would expect. Caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves give it a spicy note to go along with the toffee and big malt sweetness. Some starfruit and white grape provide some complexity in the middle, with the end transitioning to tangerine, grapefruit, and orange blossom hops to close.
Full bodied, sticky, sweet, juicy, and lightly creamy. Somewhat drying on the tongue at the end of the sip.

Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, during 3Floyds Night 2011. Caramel amber color with a samll beige head. Sweet malty taste of fruits and caramel with some grass hoppy notes. Intense flavours of sweet malt balanced by the grassy hoppy notes. Sweet aftertaste

On tap at Mikkeller Bar. It pours a slightly hazy body, dark amber in color and with a small, off-white head. Sourish, berryish nose with a light roasted and caramel touch. There’s a decent bitterness in the flavor, along with the sour berries and caramel found in the aroma. Medium to full body, nicely carbonated. Bitter towards the end, with some sourness blending in. Phone rate, $9 snifter @ the brewpub. Cloudy brown with a small beige, fading to a ring before long. Big bourbon barrel nose. Flavor is loaded with bourbon and old wood, lots of spicy boozy heat, some of caramel and toasty malt. Caramel and toffee also present, but that booze dominates all. Dry, burning all the way down the throat, warming the belly. Bitterness at a 2-3. Big full body with low prickly carbonation. So overbourbonated I have trouble finding the base beer beneath.
