On tap into a snifter at the brewpub...Pours a cleairsh light to medium brown, off white head with tons of lacing...A really light aroma, typical english style, tough to pull anything out, malt caramel with a touch of hops on the back. I want to like it, just nothing there...The taste is light but thankfully stronger the aroma. Toffee on the front which is sweet and nice but then almost totally dead in the middle lacking of flavor. The finish brings about some wood and hops, just pretty boring, tough to drink a lot of it.
A pretty boring bw, nothing special here. mxtur (266) - Michigan, USA - MAR 23, 2011
Kinda bitter late, but before that you get a nice peach and orangish haze color. It was worth having. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - FEB 25, 2011
@ Gravity Head. Amber hazy pour. Nose is toasted malt, biscuit and loads of herbal, resinous, and earthy grassiness. taste is hop dominate at first then gives way to some Visconti malt flavors. Slick full body. not bad. zoltan023 (11) - Indiana, USA - JAN 12, 2011
This was an OK barleywine. It is slightly sweet & sour. A light lingering bitter after you sip it. It is nicely carbonated. User29624 (1683) - - JAN 9, 2011
Tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Dark fruit, caramel, and slightly sweet flavor. Not there best Barleywine, but reasonable well done. ABV well hidden.

Tap at 3F brewpub. Sweet peach/apple, brown sugar/toffee aroma with light alcohol. Amber color with small head. Sweet light peach/apple malt, brown sugar flavor with moderately bitter citrus hops finish. Full bodied. Excellent - one of the best and smoothest barley wines I’ve ever had. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 16, 2010
Small taster pour at three floyds, munster... Pours a predominantly darker apple cider brown pour with a thin to medium sligtly off-white head... Mostly dark fruits and caramel malt in the nose, mostly sweet and and smewhat cloying... Flavors are mostly of the same. Sweet profile with dak fruits taking precedence followed up by some earthy hops. Medium bodied, not too full but the sweetness aspect is a tad too big. illinismitty (2271) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 15, 2010
Draft at brewpub. Pours amber with off whitehead. Aroma of caramel, alcohol, ale ester. Medium bodied with semi soft carbonation. Flavor or toffee and caramel malts, with that English hard water and orange tang. Bitterness is there, but not over the top. Excellent NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 14, 2010
Draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly murky reddish tan with white head. Looks pretty English. Nose is doughy and lightly sweet. Strong malt notes and some English hops. It is starting to pick up some oxidation. Cardboard pokes through, as do some higher alcohols on taste. This would be interesting in a barrel, though preferably one that isn’t too wet. Not too bad. manny57 (162) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - NOV 21, 2010
Had on draft at FFF. Not too bad, but I think this beer missed it’s mark for a barley wine. There was nothing really great about it. I can’t put my finger on it, but I was left wanting more.
