On tap at the brewery. Amber pour with an off whitehead. Nose of citrus caramel malt dough and pine. Sweet caramel and toffee malts with a citrus bitterness. Lightly sweet finish. Not a bad interpretation of an English barleywine, but of course more hopped than a true English barleywine - but hey i’m not complaining. Solid 7/4/7/4/15

Draft at FFF. Pours a reddish brown with a slim tan head. The nose is bready and herbal. Malt really presents itself with the flavor. A bit on the thin side. Tasty but not awe inspiring. zizzybalubba (1869) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - OCT 14, 2010
On tap at the brewery. Muddy orange pour with a beautiful creamy off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit rind and tangerines. Juicy pineapple and grapefruit balanced with brown sugar and toffee. More juicy than sweet and possibly leans more toward being a DIPA than a barley wine. Moderate alcohol warming as to be expected at this ABV. An outstanding effort. Light orange-brown pour with a white head. Aroma of caramal, bread, light hops. Taste was like the aroma, nice balance, a little bitter aftertaste. The alcohol came out at the end of the drink. Dazz3 (1798) - Hallsberg, SWEDEN - SEP 10, 2011

clear brass, slight off white head, some lace. nose is very mild sweet malt, perhaps some breadiness. the nose is pretty mild. flavor is malty, leathery and musty, with some sweet notes. medium bodied, sweet finish. alcohol is well hidden (not necessarily a plus in my book), but not as flavorful as many barley wines i’ve had in the past. still, well worth the try. sampled on tap at three floyds brewpub. UPDATED: OCT 30, 2010 On tap at FFF; pours a dark copper, with modest white head that sits faintly along the edges. nice english hop aroma - with a hint of sweetness, like caramel. At first, i believed that the english hops were the downfall of this brew - and honestly i think it holds it back a bit, but after a duration it did grow on me. The brew has an earthy element to it. Hops hit you up front, but it meshes with the maltiness - thick, almost sticky mouthfeel - it is a fairly smooth brew for the abv, i give it that. Not bad - but nothing special, whatsoever. Draught @ Mikkeller Bar, during 3Floyds Night 2011. Caramel amber color with a samll beige head. Sweet malty taste of fruits and caramel with some grass hoppy notes. Intense flavours of sweet malt balanced by the grassy hoppy notes. Sweet aftertaste
