Pours a deeper crimson reddish copper hue. Darker, mellow haze, frothy beige head atop is a decent layer, nice film with OK lacing throughout. Aromas show a distinct passion fruit and citric bitter vibe, florals, earth and rich ruby red grapefruit juice, a bit of tangelo, cranberry, faint toast. Lovely unexpected punchy nose. Initial is a bit former in body, subtle toast and faint Carmel iced malts meet distinct bitter pulpy grapefruit, florals, earth and pithy bitter rind. Potent citrus juice, earth, florals, guava, strong tangerine dream, and bitter fruit and rind. The potent hop element leaves this lighter and brighter than the malt base likely is. A faint waft of cranberry tart bitter life, esrth, more grapefruit and punchy bitterness is in it till the ginish. Simpke but potently hopped, fresh, juicy grapefruit bomb overall. A complex rich nose leads way to an enjoyable bitter brew that goes down nicely but also quite bluntly. Grapefruit, tangerine, a touch of mellow tropical nectar. This surprised me.
