22 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled on 3/21/2017. Pours hazy medium golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, banana, light bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, banana, light bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness and light-moderate herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, apricot, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, banana, honey, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation, increasing though the glass. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/bready/sticky, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 7.4%. Overall this is an awesome saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, spices, bready malt, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced spicy/drying finish. Was expecting a more hoppy saison due to the brewery, but this was very balanced and pretty traditional tasting. This has an Abbey yeast, and not the usual saison strain. A lot more fruity/banana than expected, but is still plenty spicy with adequate dryness for the style; despite being fairly malty. A highly enjoyable offering. willisread (3799) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 6, 2017
Tap at J’s. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Classic saison nose: pear, grape skin, some yeast and light pepper. Mildly sweet, with light tartness and peppery hop notes. Really well-balanced. Lightly tart on the finish with some lemon and peppery bitterness. Well-executed. weihenweizen (4203) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2017
Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Slightly hazy golden. Aroma is yeasty & coriander, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is yeasty, coriander, and orange peel. Maxbier (1000) - Maryland, USA - OCT 12, 2016
Clear dark golden with white head. Light herbal spicy yeast aroma. Some lemon citrus with plenty of saison herbal feel. Slight tartness in the finish. Distinctly saison while still having a unique combination of spicyness. I like it.

not too much like a saison. kind of sweet and fruity. barely any sign of yeast, no sign of [email protected]
I won’t be buyinganother one.
BOD 3/4/16. Hazy golden pour. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention.
Very good typical saison nose that is subtle on the funk. Light Belgian yeast notes are present (banana, sweet citrus) over a pale base.
Medium body that is smooth and somewhat oily. Quite outstanding carbonation / body balance with a tickling middle effervescence and a prickly pop in the finish.
The flavor profile is quite good. It has an underlying sweetness that arrives past the middle, a bit atypical for the style, but keeps the barnyard funkiness subdued. In conjunction with the sweetness, the yeast imparted fruit flavors arrive. The middle hints at bitterness, while initially the flavors were blended in nature. The finish is a complex slow fade - funk arrives again as the sweetness tails off coupled with a bit of spicy pepper and alcohol astringency. A subtle sourness lurks underneath and leaves with a slight pucker. Arayaga2 (2224) - portland, Oregon, USA - APR 24, 2016
Hazy orange with white head. Aroma is appley and taste is the same and clean, with light fruity esters. Good stuff.

Pours hazy sunflower-orange with a nice, big head. Aroma is white pepper, lemon, coriander, spice and earthy herbal notes. Taste is peppery lemon/orange, coriander, banana, clove, still with that earthiness present. Not my favorite style, but this is good saison.

Pours a bubbly bright gold with a booming white foam head. Aroma is pepper, spices, and citrus. Flavor is spices, coriander, and sweet orange peel. Has a smooth body, with light astringency. A pleasant drink that feels lighter than its ABV suggests.
