Pours a cloudy, dirty copper with a 2 -3 finger, creamy off white head. Aroma is loaded with toffee and wine braised dark fruit... wait, what, Saison? Nice tart and dark fruity esters, dark caramel, tree fruit, light pickle-y tartness and a nice earthy, spicy, heat. Flavor is loaded with caramel, sweet cereal, sweet malt, and pale toffee up front, then some toast, sweet, woody vinous notes, darker caramel, grass, earthy leafiness, nuttier, darker toffee, tree fruit, roasted nuts, roasted citrus, a bit of lemongrass, sweet, tangy citrus, a little sprout, light pine and grapefruit hard candy. Creamy to chewy body throughout with a medium, blanketing and somewhat sharp carbonation. This stuff is all over the place, I could call it an EPA, ESA, Old Ale, Barleywine, DIPA, Belgian Ale, Belgian Dubbel, BSA, or even,,, Saison, it really doesn’t fit any of those descriptors all that well. However, it is pretty freaking good.

0.65l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a dark caramel colored one, blurry and with a off-white sidesticking head. Smells quite old.. Malt dusty, really sticky and nutty also. Smells like a well lagered double ipa/old barley wine. Strange. Tastes quite good in a oxidized woody sweet almondy way. Light oily texture in the mouth and it’s just below average in the bubbles. Traces of both alcohol and water in the taste. Slightly bitter with old dandelion leafs. Dusty mild mouthdrying finish and tail. Not a very old bottle, but it tastes quite old. IMO not a saison, but it’s hard to argue with a bottle. 25.02.2015

Bottle. Pours a dark orange with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is caramel and grain. Medium mouth, yeast, very sweet malt, honey, tea, off finish, ok.

Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUL 4, 2015
Bottle at home. Clear orange pour, thin white head. Aroma is a bit fruity, spicy and some stale yeast. Flavor is bitter, slightly spicy and quite malty.

ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 25, 2015
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a deep amber body with a tiny white head. Nose is caramel, Norwegian brown cheese, rum, hints of straw, nuts and spices Taste is caramel, raisins, bitter herbs, wet paper and hints of stale pepper and glue. Medium body, soft carbonation. Seems completely oxidized, which is weird considering the circumstances. Weird, but even bad ass brewers like 3F can swing and miss sometimes.

Bottle shared with BBGTC. Pours a hazy deep orange. Little to no head. Aroma is thick syrupy caramel, toffee and a slightly oxidized touch. Taste is sweet with hints of raisins. I would assume this was better fresh. And I can’t find much saison here at all. Texture is oily, softly carbonated.

Aroma is moderate malty, sugary, caramel, candy, light to moderate yeasty, spicy, yeast - sweet yeast. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, candy, caramel, sweet malt, citrus notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140301]

Reddish orange pour with a slight head. The nose seems a little malt forward with notes of grains, yeast, and a slight grassy, spicy hop note. Fuller bodied on the tongue than I care for in a saison with a good bit of yeast influence. Lingering sweet finish. Not bad per se, but not great either.

RussianDragon (578) - - JUN 20, 2014
22oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a hint of crimson. Half inch of off-white head. Aroma is hops, malt, bread, sweet fruits, esters, candies. This is clearly past the date when it should have been consumed.

beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - JUN 12, 2014
bottleshare thanks to DrewFace. Pours clear, weird taste and smell. Is idly sweet and not what I was expecting.
