I took the twin taste test at 3 Floyds. Remus vs. Romulus
A: Light yellow in color kind of cloudy. There was a medium head that died down to a small lily pad.
S: Tons of nice sweet floral hops. Fresh cut grass and grapefruit.
T: Nice sweetened grapefruit taste. There is some malt in there as well to balance things out. Wonderful tasting brew. I liked it slightly better than its twin brother. Remus Rules Rome.
M: Nice and light. Effervescent brew. SQNfan (591) - Wheaton, Illinois, USA - JAN 7, 2008
On tap at the brewery: More fruity than the brother Romulus. Some yeast to go along with the fruit. Unfortunately a disappointment when compared to the Alpha King, Dreadnaught, etc. holdenn (2116) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 2, 2007
On tap @ 3F for Andrews Bachelor Party. Pours similar to its twin brother, clear gold with an off white head. Carmel grains and cereal in the aroma with a light hop spice, not as pleasant as Romulus. Carmel grapefruit flavors with a lingering light and cloying bitterness. History repeats itself as Romulus kills his brother once again. sliffy (2040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 31, 2007
On tap @ the Brew pub: Pours a clear copper color with an off white head. Aroma, bready pale malts, some citrusy, grapefruit notes. Flavor, sweet up front, some pale malts, citrus, with some light floral notes as well. I thought it was pretty good. ABUSEDGOAT (2793) - California, USA - AUG 23, 2007
orangish gold pour. Aroma is herbal somewhat fruity from the hop. Light caramel backs it, maybe a touch of bread. Not bad, but fairly boring. Not up to 3F standards, especially for an APA. You can tell they’re different, but I’m not sure how to put it into words. They are very similar.

On tap at brewpub; poured a copper/gold color. Large white head. Aroma of citrus and spice, slightly more fruity than the other version. Flavor was similar; very good tasting, liked both versions about the same. Good for the style. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2007

On tap at Three Floyds brewpub with Romulus. Orange with small white head, clear. Looks exactly like Romulus, but certainly does not smell. Has nice light citrus hop aroma witj nice sweetness. Pine with major cittus taste, sweet malt and grapefruit. Creamy, med-full body. Very great overall, and less bitter than romulus. MoDog (927) - Griffith, Indiana, USA - JUL 8, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2007 On tap at FFF, and served in a pint glass. This pale ale poured a slightly hazy golden color with a small head that quickly faded. The aroma was very faint compared to the Romulus. It consisted of some light citrus notes. The flavor was about the same as the aroma. Some very smooth, faint grapefruit and caramel, followed by a lightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall, this was a decent brew, but it was overshadowed by it’s brother, Romulus. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - JUL 8, 2007
Tap at FFF: Slightly lighter than it’s brother with a smaller head as well, very good lace still. The aroma has notes of grassy and herbal hop, lemongrass, light grapefruit and pear, very bready with a hint of butterscotch. The taste has a strange herbal quality and astringent (not fresh) bitterness with more kaffir lime undertone. Bready pale malt midsection and a dry metallic finish. The mouth feel is twangy and mouth watering but not as bright and clean as it’s twin. I preferred Romulus much more than Remus.
