An amber brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit and roasted bread. The flavor is very sweet - too sweet for my liking, but very style sure. The flavor is also very complex with caramel, roasted bread, and a OK bitter end, though not quite enough to compensate for the sweetness. The mouthfeel is very smooth. joergen (29611) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2011

Bottled (Thanks heemer77!). Dark murky brown/red colour with big off-white head. Lacing. Aroma is caramel, meat, yeast, spices and caramel malts. Very interesting and different, once it warms up, it also gets quite much ginger bread in it. Flavour is ginger bread, spices, fruity hops, cookies and flowery hops on the tongue. Very different from mostly anything I have had before. madmitch76 (26430) - , Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2012

Clear brown beer, no real head. Nice depth of malt, not quite barleywine territory but getting there. Trace of hops. Mild carbonation. Quaffable malt led beer.
Comment of one taster on trying this one: "I see angels!" I wasn’t THAT impressed, but it was a good example of the style, very malty, no hops at all. Full-bodied. Very much worth trying. cgarvieuk (26374) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 24, 2009
bottle at home ... thanks to iowaherkeye for whats the last style i need (for the 2nd time) ... who would have thought my last style would be a Scotish ale... Deep brown ... light dark fruit nose ... sweet toffee slightly bitter burnt malts ...light spice ... quite robust ... could be quite heavy going ... but quite pleasent ... medium heavy carbonation ... omhper (25953) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 4, 2002
Chestnut brown. Big sweet crystal malt aroma. Well balanced bitterness. Is this really 7.2%?? As a lover of both scottish ales and Three Floyds I was expecting more though.
