The second of the Roman twin challenge at 3 Floyd’s.
A: A little darker than its twin brother. This beer was more golden yellow/orange in color and its also nice and clear. Pours with a nice two finger head that dies down nicely yet remains.
S: Nice and floral like its big brother. Tons of citrus with grapefruit peel front and center. Big smelling brew.
T: Grapefruit baby. Romulus is a bit more bitter than its sweeter brother Remus. I really like this brew, but the malty sweetness in Remus puts it slightly ahead. I liked Remus a little better making Romulus the heir to the throne. If given the chance Romulus could rule Rome.

Comments: Sharply hoppy, resiny, bitter and dry pale ale.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug) Pale orange colour with brief white head. Fruity, very hoppy nose with pine needles and grapefruit. Fruity, seriously hoppy taste with notes of pine needles, resin and grapefruit. Very bitter finish with a grapefruity hop character. On the sweet side. Hardly balanced, but lovely hop character. On tap @ the Brew pub: Pours a clear copper color with an off white head. Aroma, floral and grassy notes, some pale malts. Flavor, pale malts, some light sweetness, floral and grassy notes. I don’t think I’ve ever had Apollo hops isolated like this, and I’m not sure it’s one I enjoy that much.
