Black with a tiny brown head. Aroma is malty, fruity, roasted and light boozy with caramel, dark sugar, prunes, raisins, plums in madeira, cherries, vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, some soy notes and licorice. Taste is very sweet fruity and malty, roasted bitterness. slight boozy and a light fruity tart note. Full bodied, oily creamy texture, soft carbonation. Finish is sweet with dark sugars, dark fruits, dried fruits, bitter dark chocolate notes and a light cherry tartness.
Very sweet but the light cherry tartness adds a balance which makes it quite drinkable (for what it is)...

Kosmiczne piwo, jedno z najlepszych jakie piłem. Połączenie przepotężnej czekolady, kawy, sosu sojowego, mocarnej słodyczy i owocowej kwasowości. Piwo w zasadzie kompletne. koleminer20 (4261) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 13, 2016
From notes. Enjoyed this during the 2nd Annual Kelly’s Island Bottle Share on September 18. 750 mL bottle. 2016 vintage. The pour is a dark motor oil black with a thin ring of dark tan head that just hangs there. The aroma is really sweet. There is a light soy on the front end and a good cherry on the finish. It’s got a lot of roast and a light alcohol burn in it. The chocolate and vanilla notes really do offer a nice balance. The flavor is good as well. There is a heavy roasted malt with a nice bright cherry that really comes through. The light chocolate and vanilla work well with a hint of oak. The mouth feel is thick and heavy with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly sweet, yet not overly so, cherry and chocolate finish. There is a hint of alcohol on the way back, but this is very good. On tap at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen Denmark. Pitch black with a brown head. Aromas of oak, red sweet wine, dark fruits, some burnt caramel, roasted malts. Taste is amazing and sweet as hell! Dark cherries, plus, oak, red wine, roasted malts, milk chocolate. Medium to full body with low carbonation. Way better than the non-BA version, or the other variants that were on tap at Mikkeller Bar on the FFF event. Theis (15150) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2016
Draught at MikkellerBar. Pitch black - brown edges. Syrup. High cherry. High sweetness. High malty. Light tart. Marzipan. Chocolate. Ryebread. Cherry syrup. Ok alcoholic notes. Far far far too sweet. It lacks the balance.

Bottle sampled at Mark’s Last Hurrah tasting. Thanks again, guys! Pours a deep brown with amber highlights and a dark tan head that settles intoa ring and some spotty film. Aroma of bourbon, cinnamon-like spice, oak, Madeira, cherry, chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor of cherry, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, and brown sugar. The wine is more apparent in the nose. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a sweet, barely tangy mouthfeel. Not one of the better Dark Lord variants. fonefan (53043) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2016

[5/11/16] Draught at Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen. Black with a bit of brown foam. Huge aroma of chocolate, fudge, wood, vanilla, some soy sauce, port, some cherries. Very sweet flavor, dessert-like, slightly sourish, somewhat boozy, with chocolate, wine, oak, cherries. Full-bodied, thick, velvety, viscous. Wonderful, especially when it warms up.
