Bottle, thanks to Scopey! The pour’s light amber with a small head. The nose is grain, breash grass, orange peel and rough tropical undergrowth. Fruit salad sweetness. The taste is big tropical fruit salad - papaya and mango. Pineapple. Sticky sweet. Nice malt body cut by a sharp bitter finish. Fresh. Big body, awesome. Overall, a nice, hot & sweet DIPA. Bottle and served in tulip: Pours a deep golden hue but with a ton of floaties which was not expected, lasting frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma and lots of rye notes along with resiny, piney, and lightly citric hop esters. Pepper and clove with a touch of caramel and Melanoidin malts. Great nose on this beer. The taste is spruce, pepper, grapefruit, clove and rye bread over a layer of biscuit and aspirin... not sure what to make of it but strangely I like it. The mouth feel is more medicinal and chalky note and a tad boozy. The least favorite part of this brew. I like many things brought to the table but still feel something does not quite mesh together. Muddled and astringent as hell. superspak (5597) - Michigan, USA - NOV 29, 2012
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating but was purchased recently. Pours extremely hazy orange amber color with a very nice 2-3 finger dense off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of huge mango, pineapple, grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, rye spiciness, pine, floral, herbal, and citrus rind. Fantastic aromas with great balance of hop complexity and rye malts. Taste of pineapple, mango, grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, spicy rye, light pine, bread, floral, citrus rind, earthiness, and herbal spiciness. Good amount of earthy citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, mango, grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, bread, pine, floral, rye spiciness, citrus rind, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a very nice balance with the rye spiciness; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy, sticky, and slightly crisp mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic imperial Rye IPA! Great hop flavor complexity and malt balance with the rye; very smooth and easy to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering as expected. dfhhead25 (251) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Aroma- pretzels, rye, hay, hops, smokiness
Appearance- lighter colored than I anticipated, nice lacing
Taste- crazy amount of rye upfront, nice smothering of hops, some malt to clean the palate up, more rye on the finish
Palate- very nice mouthfeel on this one, heavy but not cloyingly so
Overall- 3F strikes again with a crazy brew. This one really surprised me, all in good ways. Scopey (14730) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2012
Bottle from a trade with George. It pours clear orange with a medium white head. The nose is pine, orange, tangerine, mango, touch of marmalade and some creaminess. The taste is grapefruit, mango, resin, spice, pine, assertive bitterness, alcohol, earth and light metal with very long bitter-dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Flavoursome, good bitterness and well balanced. As usual these guys deliver.

Pours a cloudy peach-orange yellow with a nice, mid-sized, lasting head. Floral, hop aroma. Flavor is dominated by a strong, citrusy-hop top layer, with a nice rye bite underneath. Full, sweetish finish. There are times when I wish I lived in Munster, Indiana--this is one of them. Very nice beer. radagast83 (8069) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Bottle shared by nuplastikk. Thanks! Poured a clear orange-yellow color with a small, wispy head. Aroma was some tropical fruits, solid malt backing to this one. Flavor was notes of toffee, malt, resin hop character. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Shared by nuplastikk. Thanks man!
The beer is straw yellow and mildly hazy with a thick white cap. The aroma offers a bouquet of tropical fruits atop a sturdy malt bill. Tangerines, pineapple, grapefruit blend beautifully with bread and biscuit flavors. Robust and full bodied with ample carbonation. Alcohol content is hidden well. Another very tasty offering from FFF. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Bottle shared by nuplastikk: pours a clear bright golden with a stringy lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny hoppy nose with some light malty sweetness. Starts with good fullness and sweet light caramel with lots of fresh hop flavor and resiny bitterness before a drier bittersweet finish. Well-balanced and enjoyable. Bottle. Cloudy orange yellow color, small white head. Aroma of lightly spiced rye bread. Taste is nicely spiced rising bread dough. Tasty.
