Had on tap at FFF. Served in an imperial pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy amber color with lighter golden edges. A thick head of white foam forms on the pour and leaves sticky sheets of lace down the glass.
S: Nice light hoppy FFF profile is up front. The sweetness of the rice pops up and sticks around for the body of each smell. As the beer goes on I get some nice tangerine flesh as well.
T: Light fruity hops are up front like the nose and the rice takes over. It’s a like the sticky white rice that comes in sushi. The finish is a mix of sweet white rice and semi bitter orange pith.
M: Light to medium bodied with a nice crisp mouthfeel. Nice carbonation and the finish is creamy and sweet.
O: Hands down the best rice lager I’ve ever had. That’s not really saying much, but this is very well put together beer. Incredibly balanced. If you have the option of trying it please do.

On tap for DLD ’12. Pours a clear orange with a thin head. Nice fruit floral hop aroma. Bitter fruit orange flavors. Decent and refreshing. 7/4/7/3/15

Draft at DLD. Pours a dark golden to amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma had grassy and citrus hops, a hint of floral with some earthy grainy malts. The flavor opens with some grassy and citrus hops, grainy malts, and mild earthy notes. The finish is unfortunately pretty soft. Dark golden pour. Draft at hop leaf. Weird but good. Couldn't get any smell. Taste I got plenty of but hard to describe. Rice taste for sure. Makes it taste creamy. Rice cake? Super unique and good! One of a kind. With this and their ham on rye I am blown away with their creativity.

Why hello there, interesting one-off Three Floyds beer at Hopleaf in Chicago. Yes, I would like to drink you. I like your hazy orange-golden pour with a generous white head. Nose is lemony, almost like bathroom cleaner but not in a bad way. Dry lemon, like a Boylan’s dry lemon club soda. Mild sweetness. Some lemongrass. Dry. Pours a hazy light orange with strong head. Aroma is dillweed, lemon, wood, fresh yeast, thyme or rosemary, and cinnamon. Taste is dill, soap, caramel, honey, wood, dill finish. On tap at three floyds. Served in an imperial pint. Pours a hazy yellow gold orange. Thick white head lingers a while and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is bread, lime, light grapefruit, and a sweet chalky candy. Flavor is bread, chalk, citrus, and something I can’t identify but it goes along with that sweet chalk candy aroma. Light mouthfeel. I like this lager a lot and it’s good paired with their short rib burger.
