Draft snifter, at 3F’s. No, not baker’s chocolate, more bitter chocolate nibs and over-roast coffees working with book leather and prunes. Also has some apricot brandy taste. Dark color under a thin head that quickly turn to a thin ring with no lace. Some smokiness that sticklers might declare put it way off style, but fascinating and contemplative. Only the burn coffee smell has me ding it for aroma.
Tap: 5-30-06. Dark ruby-mahogany, decent off-white head. Aroma is full of dark fruit, residuel sugar and faint smoky malt. Flavor tons of raisin, fig, prune. from memory, on tap at 3F summer of 06, poured surprisingly dark with small white head. nose of dark fruit and belgian candy sugar. flavor had more dark fruits, plums, raisins, some spices, chocolate, and a alcohol finish. this didn’t come off very tripel like which was obviously the point from "it’s not normal" but whatever, i wasn’t that into this but would be willing to give it another try. beerbuzzmontreal (3486) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 18, 2007

12oz bottle hand bottle traded by Duane! - Thanks! Pours dark brownish ruby with a short tan head that fades fast but leaves a little lacing. Nice full aroma of yeast, raisins, plums, and other dark fruits blended with caramel malts and some candi sugar. Pleasant smooth flavor of raisin, caramel, some yeast, pears, plums, and even some bannana. Palate is sticky sweet yet smooth and easy to drink. No sign of the alcohol except the warmth at the dry finish. Beautiful tripel and another fine beer from this brewer..

Draught: Dark ruby brown color and a medium light brownish head. Sweet, fruity aroma with raisins, Belgian yeast, plums and sugar coated grains. Flavours were very unique with reminders of a traditional Belgian style Trippel and a brand new crazy 3F trippel: spicy pears, bananas and cloves on the traditional side and apricot brandy, sweet minerals and hops on the 3F side. from a growler, courtesy of rooftoprogue at a recent tasting, thanks Rob. leave it to 3F to brew up an "in your face" tripel. sweet aroma, spiced apples, pears, honey and alcohol. flavors of the same spiced fruit with yeast and plenty of candi sugar to make this sticky on the lips. a little too sweet for me. on tap at 3F: poured dark the color of maple syrup, although not as thick as maple syrup, it did have the characteristic of stickiness. aromas of dark fruit, currants, plums, and spices. flavor of plums, raisins, belgian spices, a little chocolate, and a light alcohol finish. the sweet flavor that coated my mouth wouldn’t leave even after i wanted it to. this would be best enjoyed in the winter by the fire, i’d also like to see how this would age, however neither of these are possible since they don’t bottle it and release it in the spring. hopdog (13258) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 25, 2006
On tap at the 3F Brew Pub. Poured a deep mahogany color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of plums, raisins, overall fruity with a very light spiciness. Tastes of raisins, plums, apples, very light chocolate and very light candi sugar. There was a sweetness present, but not overly sweet that I tend to notice in American made tripels. Light alcohol in the finish, but overall well hidden.
