Old and not fresh bottle. Dark malty anf bread in the nose boozy taste and finish. Would love to try fresh. JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAR 15, 2017
Clear, light copper color and a diminishing head of beige bubbles with decent lace. Aromas of pine, light citrus and a bit of barnyard (not quite brett, but an interesting twist, that reminds me of a fresh Orval). Soft feel. Sweet light caramel start. Some candi and toasted malts as well. Middle has a flourish of floral, citric and pine hops. Lightly earthy and some mineral water in the finish. Linger has just a touch of toasted malt and some light acidity. A nice mix of both worlds, IIPA & Belgian. Leans more to the IIPA side, but just enough Belgian character to pique the palate. The sum is much better than the parts. But the parts still hold me back from liking this one more. 3/14

Bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up Clementine, tangelo, cantaloupe and spicy bitter dank onion hops. The taste delivers pretty rich mango, Clementine, tangelo and cantaloupe juicy hoppiness pushing up against spicy dank onion like hop notes as well as some spicy Belgian yeastiness. This is solid as it’s plenty rich and balanced and good. jgb9348 (6324) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - OCT 19, 2016
Rich (haha) orange and bronzed coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of super dense, rich yeast, grain, alcohol, bitter hops, resin, spice and a very pale note from the malt and the hops, but the alcohol and the belgian yeast strain stand out the most, for sure. Full-bodied; Dense malty and funky spice notes dominate with a lot of alcohol, some grain, dry herbs and a ton of pungent belgian yeast complexities show through the taste. Aftertaste shows a lot of bitterness, a very dry malty flavour, some subdued sweetness from fruit with a lot of spices coming through and a resinous and piney hop flavour near the end. Overall, a rich and very deep belgian ipa with some nice spice notes, a good deal of dry yeast complexities and some bitter piney and floral hops that make this very nice and airy. A good beer for sure, but not amazing. A good beer for the style, but not worth searching out - just because it’s got the tie-dyed cap. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Chicago (Streeterville), Illinois on 11-May-2016 for US$12,99 sampled at home in Washington on 18-October-2016 after my last run in preparation for the USMC Marathon (16,2mi) in a week and a half. Tasted from a bomber. It poured a hazy orange hue with an offwhite head leaving minimal lacing. Aroma of yeast and lemon zest. Citrus, yeast, and hop taste with a nice bitter finish. Cheers Rich Sheppard!

Rich hop smell, sweetness to the flavor, full palate, full flavor, nice beer, . . jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2016
Muddy orange-amber with good, fine-bubble head, light lacing / Big, fruity nose of citrus, caramel, pine / Medium to full body, sweet, fruity, big hops and biting, very bitter finish / Flavors of grapefruit, orange, pine, lots of caramel / Big in hopping and fruit, but ultimately ungainly, even amateurish, failing to come together into anything close to a balanced whole. on tap @ Hebron Brew Haus / Hebron KY --- Aroma of malt and peach. Clear dark maple amber color, white head, hanging strings of lace. Taste is sweet malt and toffee, then more malt, along with peach and yeast in a medium carbonated swallow, then light hops to finish. A really solid Begian with a good hop finish; I don’t know about Imperial IPA.
