Draft 8 oz. "mini-shaker" at 3Fs. Thin but noticeably brown head atop a porter to stout dark body. A sharp coffee smell I haven’t found in the Baltic strain of porter before. Flavor is strong with coffee hard candies, but still a bit of lager cleanness. Threads of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Can’t say it goes down easy; I had to wrestle it a little. But when it finally yields, it does so nicely.
Bottle: Brown with no head. Dark malty taste with a great nutty roasted flavor. Coffee finish. Yum. Mindwarp (323) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 7, 2017
Pours black with a real nice tan head. Aroma is roasted malt but not real strong. Taste is roasted malt and maybe just a touch of cherry? Overall not a bad Porter I'm kind of fussy about Porter's I wish it was a little thicker and a bit more flavor but what is there is good. IndianaRed (5277) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 30, 2017
Fall bottle share - Imperial Stouts Bottle Dark brown pour, no head, just a a few miniscule bubbles hanging around. Medium dark malts and some woody nutty character. More of the coffee in the end. Very nice thedm (6319) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 13, 2017
This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated body opaque black colored body and a very good lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt and dark malt. The thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish roasted malt aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of roasted malt burnt malt brown malt and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again. Finhead (1881) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JAN 3, 2017
Deep brown pour with ruby edges and a tan head. The aroma has dark chocolate, wood, plum, and mild coffee. It has a full body with thick texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter with a roasted, dry finish.

Initially a little bit metallic aroma with mild chocolate and very mild roast. Flavor starts out mildly bitter with soft chocolate. Aftertaste presents little roast and slight tannic qualities. screigh (781) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 25, 2016
Pours a black color with a chocolate head. Some sticky lacing. Hints of grapes. Roasty chocolate and bitter finish. muzzlehatch (4977) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 15, 2016
22 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served at cellar temp in a Maudite snifter. Opaque near-black with maybe a faint purple tinge, topped by a dense dark tan head that decays slowly and laces very thickly...bitter chocolate, burnt caramel and spruce notes in the aroma; coffee, as promised? perhaps but it’s faint...on the tongue very, very sweet, thick and decadent, with heavy roast from the get-go gradually replacing the burnt-sugar character as the primary flavor vessel until we get to a quite bitter, burnt-roasted profile at the finish, though the dark sugars do remain...as mentioned, it’s thick, subtly carbonated, bordering on "luscious", a term I feel should be reserved for the most voluptuous of palates and used sparingly...no, I’m not going to say luscious, but close. It’s a big, powerful dessert beer with enough bitterness to keep from cloying, a great pairing with cheddar I would imagine, and probably the best 3F beer I’ve had (either first time or repeat) in some time. Nice job. TheJestersBeer (2431) - SWEDEN - MAY 31, 2016
Draft @ Mikkeller CBC 2014.
Dark brown/black, brown head.
Semi-sweet, full bodied, high bitterness, creamy CO2.
Roast, coffee, chocolate, tar, licorice, slightly cloying finish. (2014-05 backlog) Dorkenstein (564) - - JAN 20, 2016
Aromas of oak, blackberry jam, coffee, and cocoa. Taste is very similar: sweet dark fruits, oak, light roasted dark cocoa malts, fudge. Finish has some crisp balsamic vinegar notes. I’m surprised that there is no alcohol taste considering how high the ABV is.
