tap at FFF....had side by side with Flossmoor’s KK....close to black pour with barely noticeable brown edges and a thin film of light brown head.... sweet brown sugary nose. chocolatey with some light roastiness and smoke.... def sweeter than kowalski. less cocoa some dark fruit comes into play and a slight bitterness comes through in the finish. very smooth on the palate. i gave the slight nod to this but both were quite good. Glass poured on tap at the brewpub. Poured a nice midnight over ruby hue with a small brown cocoa head that dissipates largely. Aromas are chocolatey and with some nice bitter coffee. Mild, but satisfactory. Taste is very nice, rich chocolate and coffee dominate with some nice roasted malt notes intermixed and finish is smooth. Hard to find the alcohol after the Killer Kowalski and it’s boozy finish. User29624 (1687) - - OCT 19, 2008
On tap @ FFF. Pours black with a thin tan head. Mild aroma, a little bit of chocolate. Lots of coffee and chocolate in the flavor, I enjoyed it. I didn’t find the 9% alcohol kick as much as everyone else....I probably have a problem. sleestak (226) - Williamston, Michigan, USA - OCT 17, 2008
On tap at FFF. The half-pint poured black with a wisp of a light brown head. Metric tonnes of chocolate, coffee and roast in the aroma. Very rich tasting, moderately sweet and accented by a trace of earthy and floral hops. Very hot, boozy finish. Another awesome porter from the Floyds! bretupdegraff (243) - Fishers, Indiana, USA - OCT 15, 2008
on draft at FFF - dark pour with virtually no head - light aroma - full of taste - a bit strong as implied by the ABV - I enjoyed but there are better by FFF.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2009 Sample, on tap at FFF Brewbup. Very Black, not much aroma, some light choc. Slightly dry and smoky taste. There is a good choc. component, but the taste was overwhelmed by alochol. Pretty rich, but lacking complexity. Not bad. sersdf (1020) - chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 12, 2008
draft at CSAH the other night. pitch black, minimal head, pretty thin. gobs and gobs of chocolate, a bit of coffee too. surprisingly alcoholic even at a very cold temperature. but pretty damned good altogether. pretty light-bodied. Miver (615) - Silver Spring, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 10, 2008
Draft at the brewpub. Poured dark brown with a tan head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate malt, and toasty. Tastes of roasted coffee, toffee, toast, with some light alcohol warming in the finish. Listed as an imperial Baltic porter, I really enjoyed this selection. Very nice. bellmyer (41) - EAST MOLINE, Illinois, USA - OCT 4, 2008
Draft at the brewpub. Deep black color with a nice dark brown head. Huge aroma of coffee and roasts. Nice nose. Flavor is smoky coffee and roasted chocolate and malts. Profound taste with a thick mouthfeel. Little kick of alcohol. Excellent, excellent porter. Too bad they wouldn’t let me take any of this brew with me. marcus (10865) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 21, 2008
On tap at the brewery. This black ale poured with a clinging tan head. The flavor is very rich and tasty with lots of coffee. I really liked this one.
