Poured from a bottle purchased at the brewery 10 months ago into a 3F pint glass a very dark black with a thick dark beige head.
Aroma very slight coffee and heavy cocoa.
Flavor is nutty malted cocoa. Some bitterness due to this being a more hoppy stout which so works. Balanced nicely.
Really love this brew--ALOT.
Not like every other over sweet stout yet very smooth and drinkable. BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - JAN 12, 2014

22 oz. bottle. Had it fresh and then just opened a bottle. Pours a rich dark brownish black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, mild roast, some coffee and cocoa notes. It was more hop forward fresh, the older bottle has mild oxidation. Medium bodied, somewhat pillowy mouthfeel, Finishes a bit on the sweet end. For the love of god stop aging beers, nerds. Tasted from a bomber purchased at the brewpub. It poured a deep, dark brown with a frothy, light brown head and a pungent chocolate malt aroma. Smooth with a slightly bitter hop taste. Chocolate notes are subtle in this very tasty Stout Ale. Another fine effort from Three Floyds. italianjohn (3228) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2013

22 oz bottle from the brewery, served in a stem glass. Pours black with a moderate tan head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a moderate amount of lace. The nose has roasted malts, smoke, molasses and a touch of grassy hops. The flavour is balanced between toasty malts and herbal hops, with smokey overtones. The finish is long and roasty, with smoke and subtle herbal hops. On the palate, it is full in body with a smooth, milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a decent stout with smokey notes, reminiscent of a full-bodied porter. 2013-06-07 Sammy (12622) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 17, 2013
Black and lacy. Hops and roast, chocolate, a little boozy in the finish.

Dark beer with a sticky beige head. Big malty sweet nose with some molasses notes. Thick beer with molasses and thick dark caramel, some burnt sugar and buttered toast and some chocolate covered fruit in the back. Almost smokey. Dense, complex beer. cduncan14 (138) - Sandy Springs, Georgia, USA - NOV 2, 2013
From a 750 to a pint glass. Strong citrus hop aroma with a smoky, roasted element. This one’s dark as night with a tan head. Lots of hoppy citrus punch in the flavor as well, with a roasted finish. You can tell it’s higher gravity, but it’s balanced. Another hit from Three Floyds. jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 12, 2013
22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and notes of dark chocolate, and a little dough and light hops. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything and a chocolatey finish. Smooth to average texture. A good stout.
