22 ounce bottle thanks to a friend that picked it up for me. Pours a thicker black with a beige head of foam. Aroma is spruce, caramel, coffee, and chocolate. Taste has similar tendencies. It’s more sweet than bitter, though, which surprised me from the aromatics I was picking up on. I ended up really enjoying this beer. ryanscourt (1475) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Dark brown with huge citrus hop nose. Strong hop flavor with dark roasted malt. Akin to a black ipa, there is such a hop prescience. Malt kind of takes a back seat. Fairly bitter. Definitly a hybrid style stout but enjoyable. Nice chocolate finish lingers.

Sampled at DLD 2013. Dark brown color. Little khaki head, little loose bits of lace. Good earthy herbal hoppy aroma. Hint of chocolate malt. Medium to bigger body. More dry texture. Lighter carbonation. Good big bitter taste, light spicy bitterness. Solid. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 30, 2013
Bottle. Pours with a black hued body and a lasting tan head. Aromas are roasty, nutty, medium fruity notes (hop and esters to a lesser extent). Flavors show some noticeable alcohol, fruity, boozy, spicy and dry. Medium roast with a high hop flavor and bitterness. Medium bodied and warming. phaleslu (10267) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 30, 2013
100th stout rating. Split a bottle 6 ways at Northdown. Pours a super dark brown, not quite opaque, with a finger of tan head that dissipates quickly. Lots of earthy hops, orange peel, super rich roasted malts, coffee, and bitter dark chocolate. A hint of rubber, like putting a hockey puck in your mouth. Light-medium bodied, with low-to-moderate carbonation. A few varieties of bitter and somehow still smooth in texture. Good beer.

Draft to half-pint glass at Dark Lord Day. Looks good; a dull black with sticky beige lacing. Smells of dark malt and bitter hops. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Solid beer, but drank more like a Black IPA to me. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 28, 2013
Nice dark brown pour, brown head. Flavor is sweet but with plenty of dry and hoppy notes on the finish. A nice mix of chocolate notes, licorice and then the dry finish. Enjoyable brew. conway (2210) - - APR 28, 2013
Bottle. Pours black with a thin khaki head and lots of lacing. Nose is incredibly hoppy. Some coffee notes are evident. Taste opens with piney hope, fading to oats and coffee and finally vanilla. Palate is rich and smooth. Really delicious.

22 ounce shared bottle. Pours almost black with an average brown head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, coffee, and pine. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, citrus, and pine. Excellent. 50belair (3643) - Florida, USA - APR 22, 2013
Thanks to Hopscotch for sharing this one. Brown pour with a tan head. Toasted malts and bakers chocolate notes. A little light in the pants.
