22 oz. bottle, sent from StFun (thanks a lot, Josh), pours black with a medium foamy tan head. Nose brings out loads of fresh green hops galore, a bit of cocoa, a bit of bitter coffee, and a bit of chalk. Flavour brings out shitloads of fresh green hops and loads of slightly burnt coffee duking it out to fight for the forefront, with a bit of bitter cocoa in the back. This is basically a cross of a stout and black IPA. Super pungent on the hops, but without the harshness of many black IPAs. Full-bodied, bringing the best of both styles to the table. Great stuff. Bottle shared @ tasting. Very dark brown to black color with a medium sized light brown head. Aroma is malts, surprisingly a lot of grains, a hint of dark chocolate and only slightly roast. Taste malts, again super grainy, oatmeal, pretty bitter and some roasty bitter. Medium body and carbonation. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 15, 2013

Blackish pour. Flavor of roast, some chocolate, typical FFF hops. A very normal yet satisfying black ipa/hoppy stout. Dogbrick (13777) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Thanks to Beer Savant for sharing a bottle during his 50th birthday bash. Pours jet black with a medium thick foamy tan head that dissipates slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy malt, chocolate and resiny hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee and chocolate aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
