Bomber bottle. Guinness glass. Nice head and retention, with a decent lacing. Deep dark color. Hop nose with hefty resins. Pine is really all over this. Fades into a woody saw dust taste with a chocolate and slight coffee finish. bucs572000 (237) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bomber in a trade. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, and very nice hoppy bittering background, their is also a nice milky creamy mouthfeel. A very good beer from three Floyd’s as always!!! bhiner41 (189) - Darien, Illinois, USA - NOV 7, 2014
Pours jet black, nice tan foam head. Smells like doughnuts and booze. Lively mouth feel, fizzy for a stout. Chocolate on the palate and aftertaste. napdynmite (91) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2013
I think I have a new favorite beer from Three Floyds. Toxic Revolution is an excellent Stout with a beautiful combination of roasted chocolate and Three Floyds signature hoppiness. Extremely drinkable and somewhat light for a stout. Creamy head and deep dark color. Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Big bottle (22oz?) pours with a very dark body supporting a near creamy looking mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, some burnt malts, earthy lightly lime like citrus hops and a touch of spicy black strap molasses. The taste is rich and near creamy with a velvety mouth feel delivering up dark roasted malts, rich pine hops and then thin layers of earthy lime peel. This is solid where I’m getting a terrific balance of malts, dark roasted malts and rich bitter hops. Lovely Black IPA.

Tasted from a bomber purchased at the brewpub. It poured a deep, dark brown with a frothy, light brown head and a pungent chocolate malt aroma. Smooth with a slightly bitter hop taste. Chocolate notes are subtle in this very tasty Stout Ale. Another fine effort from Three Floyds. shrubber85 (11322) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAY 2, 2014
Bottle. Hay, woody chocolate malt, light smoke, and bitter herbal aroma. Black-brown with small head. Sweet chocolate malt, strong oak, and moderately bitter herbal flavor. Nice blending. Spectacular - wish this were a regular. kmbrewmaster (6) - - MAY 17, 2013 does not count
Great balance, smooth taste, burnt flavor. Touch of hops, but not overpowering. My wife likes it. cduncan14 (138) - Sandy Springs, Georgia, USA - NOV 2, 2013
From a 750 to a pint glass. Strong citrus hop aroma with a smoky, roasted element. This one’s dark as night with a tan head. Lots of hoppy citrus punch in the flavor as well, with a roasted finish. You can tell it’s higher gravity, but it’s balanced. Another hit from Three Floyds. novels (424) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Very interesting stout here. Got lots of complex malt going on, barely present alcohol taste, some bitter flowers, sweetness, and a nice viscosity. Leaves a heavy tan/cream colored lace on the glass. Delicious and blended perfectly.
