3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose of honey suckle, tropical fruits. Taste sweet, tropical fruit, grapefruit, alcohol burn. Yeast character muted by bitterness. Going to cellar a couple to tame bitterness and burn and hopefully reveal more of a saison.
Rated on 5-02-2013 (Bottle) This beer pours a large smooth off-white head with a lengthy retention, golden transparent body, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is malt, citrus hops, honey, and spicy. The flavor is semi-sweet, citrus hops, spicy, and malt. The mouthfeel is lively and this saison is light-medium bodied. A quaffable saison, but I do not care for the taste of it. The flavors come together in a non-typical way for the style. emacgee (4680) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - NOV 27, 2014
I had this one a while back and must have forgotten to review it. Soft hazy blonde pour with a white rocky head. Spicy/zesty aroma and flavor with a round bitterness and firm backing. Stone fruit and bready notes come through with a subtle yeastyness. BVery (10609) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUL 31, 2014
Bomber. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Some sediment noticeable. Bready, caramel - comes off more like a mild barley wine. Not bad but far from a typical saison. gyllenbock (9313) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 10, 2014
Bottle bought in Copenhagen 2013.
Hazy orange with a small head. Sweet with dried fruit, orange, light spices and malt. Not bad but maybe a bit old?

@Basunen: doftar inte mycket, lite gräs kanske. Kan vara för gammal. Lite maltig ton. God men kanske inte på topp.

Hmmmm. Was skeptical about this one as I wouldn’t associate either of these breweries with the saison style but that was part of the allure as well as the hieroymus bosch meets robert crumb like label. Anyway lets start talking about the actual beer... pours a medium copper color with three fingers of sticky khaki foam. The nose is more of a barleywine... cornpop cereal, butterscotch, taffy and copper pennies. Hmmm. WTF, this has to be full of diacetyl infection after looking at other reviews there is no way I could pick anything close to traditional saison flavors... and it seems some people actually did get a saison in this bottle... butterscotch, copper pennies. 22 oz. bottle shared by jmborggren. Pours a hazy dark golden/orange color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have big citrus notes, oranges and tangerines, some tropical notes, funk, bready malts, floral notes, and herbs. Medium-bodied, dry finish, nice drinking fruity saison. thome50 (1295) - Morro Bay via Orange County, California, USA - DEC 17, 2013
Pours a deep orange to brown with white head. Aroma of fruit and malty hops. Taste is fruity caramel forward. No funk. Odd for a saison. TBone (17685) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 28, 2013

Hazy orange, small white head. De Molen type yeasty nose with fruity hoppyness. Medium-bodied. Fruity, sweetish flavor. Quite simple 3F.
