UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Very nice beer. Great smell, herby and rich. Good carbonation. Taste is nice as well. Complex and with lots of hop. Great beer. Bjshades (156) - Iowa, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Almost perfect, pours a light golden color, nice citrus aroma, lighter body and very drinkable, nice hop flavor with a citrus finish. Very good mjt127 (11) - - NOV 15, 2013
Had it on tap. Good color, great grapefruit aroma, but the flavor’s a little more subtle than I found myself expecting. Tough to live up to the expectations. It was good but I won’t go crazy trying to track it down again.

Well... Not worth the ratings... Unfortunately I think people rate this high just because what they're told or what they see. Not rate on what they taste smell and experience. It's an ok pale ale. The aroma is sound but definitely not a crisp hop smell or taste. Very muted flavors and aromas. You can't tell me honestly that this American pale is a better all around pale as compared to say a new glarus no coast pale ale or a Half Acre Daisy cutter or even the classic sierra pale or mirror pond. No way. Repeatable? Sure...top rated pale? Not in my book. But overall 3 Floyd does not make over rated beer... That are very very sound.. This one just missed...

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2014 For my 500th rating I chose Zombie Dust. Bottle pour at the Three Floyds pint night at Jungle Jim’s. Pours hazy gold. Nose lots pine, mango, resin. Taste grapefruit bite, some evergreen and then sweet malt. Smooth mouth. Bitter finish. Great beer.
For the re rate, I believe a little fresher sample. Unbelievable nose. Mango and resin. Taste more tropical fruit than the last example. Awesome big flavors.

Light copper with a dense white head. Lovely clean, hoppy aroma with the usual tropical suspects, citrus, grapefruit on top of a light malt background. Flavor is chewy, fruity and intense yet clean, sharp and perfectly balanced bitter. Solid as usual when it comes to FFF’s hop-forward stuff and an overall lovely US-pale ale. fidelis83 (2498) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - NOV 2, 2013
Bottle straight from the brewpub, thanks to joshmcg000. Slightly hazy, dark gold to amber pour with a 1-2 finger, soapy and creamy head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is crazy, just huge juicy citra hop presence, tons of mango heavy tropical fruit, citrus, fruity floral, a touch of spruce and spice, there’s some caramel and biscuit and a little doughy touch, but the hops are what this is all about. Flavor is nearly as awesome with tons of juicy citrus, metric tons of tropical fruit, nice, fruity floral notes, a little spruce, a little cat box, and a sweet strawberry-like fruity note. The malts are a little more pronounced in the flavor than the aroma with some toast, caramel, bread and a little sweet cereal. The palate is also awesome, medium body with a creamy, juicy, almost chewy entry, velvety blanketing light, but slightly sharp carbonation and still juicy, mineral off dry finish. Fantastic beer all around, easily one of my new favorites. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - NOV 1, 2013
(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy gold pour with a fluffy white head. Sweet and citrus hop aroma with a good amount of tropical fruit notes. Flavor starts off bitter but quickly goes to a very juicy and sweet citrus middle. Slightly dry finish but very sweet and citrusy all around. Smooth and very easy to drink. joshmcg000 (388) - Iowa, USA - OCT 30, 2013
Pours Hazy copper with small amount of white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit, very nice. Crisp light to medium body, very easy to drink. Hoppy bitterness up front, a little bit of grass some pine and lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Caramel malt backbone. Pretty great APA. navajojoe (28) - - OCT 30, 2013
UPDATED: APR 12, 2014 One of my favorite beers, served in the comfort of my home in a pint glass. Has a strong citrusy aroma with a hint of orange. The appearance of this beer is down right sexy, the fluffy head lets out an amazing aroma and you can see the carbonation bubbling through the golden pale haze. This is a Live beer that sticks in your palate for some time. Suggestion, try it with some parmesan cheese.
