On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear brown with a thin tanned white head. Toast, nutty malt on the nose. Medium bodied, earthy malt leads into some bitterness. Bomber. A HUGE head that oh so slowly falls. Really cool looking lacing. That head is beige and the beer under it is clear dark amber. Aroma: The aroma is mostly burnt and toasted malts, with some underlying earthy hops
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a frothy beige head and drippy lace spots
Flavor: Flavor-wise, it is malty and dry, like slightly burnt toast, with pretty minimal sweetness
Palate: The mouthfeel is clean and also a little chalky, with a fairly dry finish
This is an interesting beer. I get a lot of burnt toast flavors out of it, and it is quite malty, despite not being sweet at all. Interesting stuff. Maybe a bit one notes, but interesting stuff none-the-less.
Bomber from Capone’s. Pours hazy brown with tan head. Nose was earthy vienna malt, big hops, nuts. Tasted like a hoppy nut brown ale with huge complexity and solid balance, and I even got some figgy notes late. Left me wanting more. TATE (407) - Lubec, Maine, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Bottle. Pours a deep ruby color with a thin tan head. Piney aroma. Sharp bitterness from both hops and roasted malt. Piney hop flavor is a bit overpowering and way too much bitterness for the style in my opinion. On tap at MacGregor’s. Dark brown color with a frothy and medium creamy beige head with a decent duration. Aroma is toasty, light sweet and caramel. Flavor has toffee notes with caramel and toasted. I’m not a brown fan but really enjoyed this one. On tap at MacGregor’s. Beautiful looking, reddish brown, pretty filtered looking. Rich malty nose. Palate is malty but balanced. No off tastes, which in my mind many brown’s have. Well done.
