3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by Blipp at my house. Pours black with off white head. Nose/taste of roasted malt, burnt chocolate malt, burnt coffee grounds and burnt vanilla. Medium body.
Big head indeed!
This is not your sweet, rich stout. This is a more potent working mans brew. Bigger than a porter but very similar. Yum.

Tall can (thx, Kory V. for this extra!). Canned on 2017-10-23. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, fruity, and, unfortunately, some iron notes. Taste is very fruity with roasted malt bitterness and iron notes. Fairly dry. This would be better without iron in it and less roasted malt bitterness, but ot is still fairly good. An okay stout. Malty backbone with a chocolate butter finish. Smells really malty pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Very carbonated. Was a cheap buy.

Aroma: It is mostly roasted malts and coffee, with some chocolate, molasses, and caramel notes
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a small, frothy light brown head, and spotty lace
Flavor: The taste leans toward the unsweetened coffee side of the style, with a mid-bitter close
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, not watery, with a soft-to-average carbonation
I believe this will knock me into the top 5 raters of Three Heads, so that’s cool. This is a pretty solid dry stout. There’s enough of a light sweetness to keep it well balanced, but it leans more roasty and bitter than it does sweet. This is a nice one, nothing outstanding, just a well made beer. Maybe a bit underrated on here.
Chocolate brown pour with no real head. Malt and dark fruits on the nose. Chocolate, coffee and vanilla taste. Lacks depth. Cybercat (6334) - Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2014 Pours a warm chocolate brown with a light tan head. Aroma has roast malt and caramel notes. Flavor echoes the roast malt and caramel of the aroma lip us a hint of toffee. Texture is firm, fairly smooth, fairly fizzy. Get your beer head on! wlajwl (7205) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 4, 2014
Aroma is dark malts and strong vinous/scotch notes. The flavor is dark malts, mild roasted notes, scotch, fruit/dark fruit and an acidic/dry finish. DrElectrico (12) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 21, 2014
On tap harefield rd in Williamsburg but listed as winter stout?? Nice bitter tones but good balance. Not too thick but got some body to it, with some coffee flavors. A success in the snow!
