Slightly hazy amber coloured body with a muddy brown glow and a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright citrus and piney hops with a good malt note, some assertive roasty notes and a bit of a herbal dry kick. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive hop notes with cascade and a bit of a piney kick that fades fairly quickly to fairly mild malty flavour with alcohol and a very pungent hop kick in the back. Aftertaste is nice, but fairly one-dimensional with only hops noticeable, but in a good way. Overall, a nice and rather fitting beer, aside for the fact that the malt (thus oatmeal) isn’t noticeable at all - and this is basically a hoppy amber ale with little else to support it’s intentions. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 21-July-2012 for US$7.99 sampled at home in Washington on 02-September-2012. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 7, 2012

On tap at Jimmy’s, tapped 3 days ago though relatively freshly kegged. More brown than red, unfiltered. Great body, full but not heavy, mostly dry with a decent hop character. Coffee and mild coffee. Very decent. GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 29, 2012
651mL thanks to nmann08. Pours a clear, tea red. Decent yellow foam. Spotty lace. Nose is heavy red apple skins. Oxidized apple juice. Taste is bitter, pine needles, sharp herbs. Dry, herbal, forest palate. Long tannic tea astringency. Travlr (26948) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 29, 2012

Red with brownand orange tones.Frothy thick head.Lacing.
Hoppy aroma with toasted grain subtley sweet malt maybe oats? Some breadiness.
Taste is full with creamy chewy body.Nice toasted/roastedness with a good matching bittering to a mildly bittersweet dark carmel.Very fitting matching hoppyness with the malts. jb (3483) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2012
This was a pleasant surprise. Very hoppy nose, citrus notes dominate, particularly grapefruit. Orange/red appearance, dark thick head with much retention. Beautifully balanced hop / malt. Takes amber to a new level. Oats add body and a bit of sweetness. This one is going to get a regular spot in my fridge. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUL 3, 2012
(bottle - 22 oz) Copper pour with a creamy looking white head. Hoppy and citrusy aroma . Flavor begins with a good citrus hop flavor with a slightly dry and fruity bitterness. Oatmeal isn’t very apparent but that doesn’t matter to me. Really great citrus and floral hop flavor.
