Rochestafarian n. 1. A beer, malty in nature, brewed to honor Rochester, NY. Like the city’s fine funky music, this sweet, full bodied, slightly bitter brew is sure to sway the soul and bring about a feeling of Irie. 2. One who loves 3HB.

Malty, sweet, nutty with a caramel-like sweetness. Watery, long finish. A bit disappointing overall.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-brown color with a very large fluffy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sour and nutty - almost vegetal and had touches of dark fruits and canned mushroom juice. The flavor was dryish and woody with hints of smoke, red meat, dark fruit and mushroom juice. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Not good.

Meh...this beer is OK at best. Aroma was delicious. A sweet mix of roasted malt and chewy caramel. Like a Sugar Daddy candy. Pour was a surprisingly light (for the style) brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was a little weak, but it was good. The strong caramel and almost milky flavors were present with not much else going on. It’s not a bad beer on the surface, but lacks the depth of malt and flavor of a good wee heavy. Mild carbonation.

Ale Alpharetta December Meeting. Normally, I dig this style and seek it out. This was a poor rendition. Malt forward, slightly metallic, a bit nutty. All in all the flavour was just not there and what was there came off a bit old tasting and touches of brown paper bag.

I am surprised the ratings for their beer are so low. The beer was smoky with clear caramel malt shining and balancing nicely.

(draft @ J.B. Quimby’s - Rochester, NY) Copper pour with a thin white head. Very mild aroma of slightly smoked malt with a touch of caramel. Flavor is mild and slightly watery. Slight caramel aroma with a very light bitterness. A bit too light and mild for my taste.

OK, so I don’t get this style. Usually its heavy thick and rude but this example is a little bit different. Not dark brown but its brown. Smell is ever so slightly spicey like this style usually is. The first taste if this is easy to take, not in yer face. Never over the top. It hides the alky well, best wee heavy I’ve had around 7%. Although it becomes more medicianl near the end it is a pretyy good wee heavy with manners.

Bottle. Pours a clear ruby with a thin white head. Soft malt on the nose, a touch of light hops. Medium-bodied, a bit of paper comes through over some oxidized plum and old malt notes. Finishes with some malt and a bit of sweetness. Decent enough.

12oz bottle. hazy amber with a big fluffy orange-tinged head. caramel aroma. very sweet at first taste, not a lot in the finish. a little light.

Trade from Strykzone. Poured a dark cranberry color with and off white head. Nose is caramel malts, with dark ripe fruits. Medium plus in body and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is ripe fruit, some toffee, floral hops. Finish is bitter sweet. Decent for the style.
