Rated on 12-24-2011 (Bottle) The appearance is a medium sized tan fizzy head with a lengthy retention, transparent brown body with an orange tint, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, pine and grassy hops. The flavor is roasted malt, pine hops and fruity. The mouthfeel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. The roasted malt takes over the hops in this beer thus giving this beer a lingering roastiness. cgarvieuk (26422) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 18, 2014

Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a translucent dark brown with a layer of off white head. Aroma of malts and pine. Taste of a random assortment of hops, malts, dark chocolate, and pine. PorterPounder (8364) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2014
Warner Robins, Ga. - Lazy Dog Growler - on tap. Deep dark brown pour, sticky mocha colored head with luxurious lacing. Aroma has a hint of chocolate, light spruce. Delectable flavor with solid chocolate notes, a touch of licorice, some rye mintiness, a touch of light citrus bitternesd with a nutty back end. Thickish mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. dmac (6592) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JAN 17, 2014
22oz bomber from Spirits Manahawkin. Poured a nice looking thick dark black body under a larger dense creamy beige head. Aroma is blah, the roastiness is missing and there is some light chocolate over a cardboard tonic water band aid combo. Palate is okay with a medium to thicker body with stronger fizzy carbonation. Flavor is better than the aroma with a little bit of roastiness hanging on, hint of buttery chocolate and dark toast. This one is suffering from some infection issues and I guarantee time will kill this completely, I couldnt even finish the bottle.

22oz bottle, shared by beerpig317. Mostly clear dark brown / red color. thin off-white / tan head, couple dots of lace. Some dark fruit, caramel in the nose. Light roast, chocolate malts, light hint of metallic. Moderate bitter, light sweet. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Easy-drinking, though the taste is lightly sweet and cloying. Not sure if fresh bottle or not. Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 15, 2013
Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours deep brown with a medium beige head. The nose is earthy, skunky, juicy caramel, cherry cola, varnish and juicy pine. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasted malt, toast, earth, cocoa, pepper, coffee and mild bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Yup pretty skunky. Nice stuff. Leighton (22823) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2013
Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell in London - thanks to Colin, my black IPA brother. Pours clear brown with a big tan head. Lightly aged burnt pine and toasted malts in the nose, some herbs, too. Light to medium sweet flavor with dirty pine, dry orange, burnt toast, light dusty cocoa. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Modest dry roast finish with more dusty cocoa and toasted pine. OK, but the bottle doesn’t seem super fresh.
