On tap at the Ale House in Vestal NY
Pours a surprisingly clear dark brown with ruby highlights when held to light. Creamy off white head shows moderate retention. Smells of pine and cirtus with hints of chocolate and coffee. Not quite porter like in the nose but the roast is definitely there. Pine and resinous taste mixed with a hint of chocolate and roasted grains. Medium body and carbonation level with a resiuos creamy mouthfeel. I really liked this one. Great Black IPA that almost ordered another one to my table. bhensonb (15963) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 26, 2011
Bomber from Half Time. Pours very black with a slight creamy white/beige head. Roasted dark malt with evergreen aspects for aroma. Med+ body. Flavor is smooth dark roast malt with a good dose of fruit/resin hop. I’d say grapefruit above pine, but this is a mixed flavor situation and I’m having trouble separating components. And why try. It’s nicely bitter, full of malt flavor, and incredibly delicious. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2011
This poured a darker brown color with a beige head. Aroma was a nice blend of roasted malt and dank hops. Flavor was also very well balanced, one of my favorite black ipas, nice bright herbal hops with a roasted background. Good stuff. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 20, 2011

Moderate robust malt aroma. Very dark amber color with a medium tan head. Initially sharp sweet turning quickly to a light bitterness that last until the end. Lightly creamy palate in the finish.

Bottle purchased at the Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo. Pours a pitch black opaque colour with an off white head that recedes to a thin layer, minor spots of lacing. Aroma is hoppy, almost smells like dope. Tastes is quite bitter, sweet. Really nice mouthfeel, a little numbing. Awesome. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUL 9, 2011
22oz bottle @RBSG-pours a tan head and dark copper color. Aroma is pine/resin, secondary medium/dark malt. Taste is pine/resin hops with some bite, secondary medium/dark malt. mabel (10004) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 28, 2011
[3704-20110429] Tap. Grainy roast malt bread aroma. Clear, black red-hued body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Roasted grainy malt flavour is boozy and lingers afterward with wooden bark notes. Full body. Tasty and interesting but don’t think I could handle a pint. (7/3/8/4/15) 3.7
