3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask @ beer authority. Pours thick and creamy with a huge cappuccino colored head. Very dark. The aroma is strange. Filled with hops and some sweetness but Parmesan cheese? Wtf? Anyway on tha palate it’s nicely balanced but uninteresting. Pretty decent.
Bomber. Very dark with just a little red. A creamy tan head. Aroma of earth and pleasant fruit with chocolate. Those flavors are also tasted along with sulfury hops that gives it a spicy rye effect. Easy to drink this. fonefan (49997) - VestJylland, DENMARK - NOV 6, 2014

[ As Three Heads Skunk Black IPA ].
Clear dark red brown color with a large, creamy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, funky, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, citrus, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, funky, licorice, chocolate, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Pours a rich, appetizing, dark-chocolate brown that lets in a snip of daylight at the very bottom and has a very thick and rather persistent light tan head that pillows. Roast malt aroma has notes of wood hops and caramel. Hops, mostly woody, dominate the flavor, while roast malt and caramel and a little hint of chocolate serve as backup singers. Smooth texture has decent fizz and thickness, and leaves an earthy, smoky finish of woody hops. Go ahead, get skunked - but PLEASE designate a driver, or call a cab. Or get skunked in your own home, or in a bar that’s convenient to MARTA. KyotoLefty (10523) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 3, 2014
Draught at MacGregors. DArk brown with orange, fine head. Nose of chocolate, big licorice, orange, pine. Nice citrus and licorice flavor, chocolate, mint, light roast, as I like in the style. Good stuff. Light and crisp with solid bitterness. kaser (6364) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2014
Black pour from 22oz bottle at Lakehouse. Tabbaco and earthy taste. Malty hoppy and licorice. Something off about this but it isn't bad

From a bottle from Lazy Dog. Pours dark ruby brown with a bubbly beige head. Tastes like sweet roasted malt, bitter hops, pine, dry grapefruit. Light.body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet alcohol, pine, musky malt. sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Bottle. Pours dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is lightly roasted malts, faint chocolate, raisins, fig, light spice, and faint floral notes. Flavor is dry malts, roast, medium earthy bitterness, and faint dark fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. hayduke (5599) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 10, 2014
Courtesy of a trade. Poured black with a beige head and a lot of sticky lacing. Nose is roasted malts and pine hops. Medium plus in body with a smooth creamy mouth feel. Flavor is a good balance of chocolate malts and pine hops and a good bitterness is there. The finish shows the pine hops and some licorice. Really delicious beer. closey22 (2026) - Mt. On tap at High Street Grill in Mount Holly, NJ. Nose is a combo of roasted malts and piney hops. Upfront, flavor is bittersweet roasted malt and more pine hops. A unique contrast that seems to work nicely. Soft silky mouthfeel. Finish has notes of licorice and chocolate. Nicely done.
