I’ll admit I didn’t have very high expectations for this beer. But it looked OK and the aroma, though barely noticeable, wasn’t offensive in any way. Then I had a sip, it was a bit like licking a 9V battery. Not that it gave me a small electric shock (though it tasted shockingly bad) but it gave me that same metallic mouth-feel. Needless to say most of the bottle went down the drain.

Bottle from a border supermarket. Coca cola color, malty and spicy aroma. Sweet, quite true to type macro Scandinavian Christmas brew. Rich malty body, cinnamon. Pleasant dry hops in the finish. A nice surprise.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of anders37. Pours a clear dark amber with a rough beige head. The nose has a little roast and caramel. Light body, roasted malts and a whiff of caramel. Discreet buttery touch and a little perfumy hops and metal. Quite decent actually. 171110

Thanks austone! Deep ruby color, good creamy beige head. Grainy nose has toasted caramel and some grassyness. Flavor is malty, has some toasted notes and grassyness (low bitterness). Body is ok for Swedish 3.5% beer. Quick finish. Decent in its class.

OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 12, 2009
0.5 L bottle. Brief, fingerthick tan head. Clear an shiny, deep amber to ruby color. Limited aroma of sugary dark malts. A nutty scent, and hint of caramel. Taste is medium sweet, mainly dark malts, and again, hint of caramel. Some underlying bittering hops. Light body. Diluted mouthfeel. A decent, but dull Christmas lightweighter.

Bottled (thanks T.M.). Rubyish amber colour with mediumsized off-white fluffy head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight syrupy notes, mild cardboard and rubber as well. Flavour is caramel malts, mild toasted notes, some cardboard as well as mild grainy notes. Not too much bitterness. More like a table beer than a folköl.
