COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 10* Farmers Pale Ale holds a special place at Three Notch’d – it represents our commitment to supporting local Virginia hop farmers and it’s also our first ever bottle release. Why the asterisk? Well, this inaugural 2014 ale actually ended up including 12 farmers. There was just too much excitement to stop at 10, and each of the farmers who collaborated with us on this ale brought 20 or so pounds of fresh hops picked just hours before the morning brew. This delightfully fresh, exceptional pale ale is 90% Cascade and rounded off with Zeus, Chinook, and Nugget. Please enjoy this beer fresh and check back each year for 10* Farmers Pale Ale at harvest time. Our warmest thanks to the original 12 farmers, their pictures forever commemorated on our label: David Bernard of Mad Hops, Steve Bunch of Misty Trail Hop Yard, Dave Whipple of Whipple Creek Farms, Chris Gordon and Gordon Giuliano of Charlottesville Hops LLC, David Goode of Piedmont Hops, Jonathan Scott of Homegrown Hopyards, Stan Driver of Blue Mountain Barrel House Hop Yard, Suzy Trefsgar of Maple Spring Farm, Kurt Stanfield of Huguenot Hops, Hunter Crosby of Split Rail Hop Farms, Kristine Terrell of Grassmere Farms.

12 oz can from jcos. 2017 vintage. Thanks bud! Pours a hazy burnt golden color with a thin head. Drinking this while listening to the pitter patter of the rain landing on the river. Has nothing to do with the beer, but it is so peaceful that it is probably upping my enjoyment. Lemony aroma, with grass, spice, and a little grain. Similar flavor. Light, clean, easy drinking, and refreshing.

$2.20 can from Wine Warehouse, 2017 edition. This year it's 4.5%, 30 IBU. Pours clear golden with a large off-white head. Aroma is light citrus - tart smelling, not bitter or sweet, apple, dust. Flavor is bitter citrus, a little apple, grass, earth. Perhaps the blend of hops is too much as there isn't a standout flavor - but then again, perhaps that also makes it unique.

Bomber->SA. Brite pale copper with small bubbly offwhite head. A: citrus zest, lemongrass, citrus hops, pine hops. Kind of a muddy hop fest going on. T: bittersweet spicy pine hops, citrus and flora, caramel malt. OK.

22oz bottle pours a mostly clear orange with some clumpy, off white head. Nose is off a little, orange and mint, yeast, honey comb. Flavor is malty, grain, dried citrus peel, mint. Seems old even though I know it’s not.

Draft, 2015 version. Sticky lace. Caramel aroma. Flavors of toast and marmalade, with some of that fresh-hop sticky sweetness that makes the mouth water long, long after the sip is gone. Really excellent.

750ml. Thanks, Kieran! Somewhat cloudy golden color with a small white head. Very nice hop aroma, floral and herbal with slight barnyard funk. The flavor is sweet malt balanced by a complex hop kick, herbal and floral. Medium body with average carbonation. Great beer overall.
